Eleven-Run Inning Propels Ithaca to 17-1 Rout of No. 23 Arcadia

LEXINGTON, S.C. – The Ithaca College baseball team used an 11-run fourth inning to blow out No. 23 Arcadia University Tuesday evening at Lexington County Stadium by a final score of 17-1. The Bombers are now 6-2 on the season.

IC jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning as Ethan Daddabbo drove in a pair on a double to right field, bringing in Riley Brawdy and Ryan Laubscher. Colin Shashaty extended the lead to 3-0 on a bases loaded infield error that plated Ethan Rothstein.

Arcadia got on the board in the bottom of the third with a solo home run.

In the 11-run fourth inning, Rothstein scored the first run on a sacrifice bunt by Connor Pedersen, which was followed up with an error. Shashaty then earned his second RBI of the day to make it 5-1 as Daddabbo crossed the plate, and then Pedersen scored on another Arcadia error for a 6-1 advantage. The Bombers then strung together seven hits that all led to RBIs, while a fielder's choice accounted for another run to blow the game open, 14-1.

The Bombers tacked on three more runs in the top of the ninth inning on a Brawdy three-run homer for the 17-1 final score.

Shashaty went 2-for-4 with three RBI, Brawdy drove in four on a pair of hits and Daddabbo had three RBI on two hits. Laubscher also collected a multi-hit game with three runs scored and Rothstein scored three times.

Jack Picozzi picked up the win in 5.0 innings pitches with five strikeouts and one earned run on five hits. Keaton Blackwood, Dan Kellachan, Cooper Albert and Ben Landis all threw an inning of relief and combined for six strikeouts, to just one walk and two hits.

The Bombers play Swarthmore at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
