Shreveport- The Centenary baseball team swept a doubleheader on Saturday over the Southwestern University Pirates by scores of 12-9 and 11-5 to complete a three-game series weekend sweep in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play at Shehee Stadium.
The Diamond Gents (14-10, 9-2 SCAC) recorded a 5-1 victory on Friday night in the series opener and have won nine of 11 games. The Pirates fell to 15-14 and 6-6 in league play with Saturday's losses. Centenary is an impressive 52-16 at home since the beginning of the 2021 season and improved to 6-1 at home this season.
Centenary takes a break from SCAC play on Tuesday as the Diamond Gents will face the LeTourneau University YellowJackets (11-17) in a non-conference contest in Longview, Texas at 6 p.m.
