Bantams stymie Seahawks at Reynolds Field, 5-1

NEWPORT, R.I. (Wednesday, April 10, 2024) - Seven Trinity College pitchers combined to limit #6/7 Salve Regina University to four hits as the visiting Bantams defeated the Seahawks, 5-1, in non-league baseball action at Reynolds Field on Wednesday afternoon.

A three-run third inning for Trinity (9-11) featured a double-steal for the Bantams including a swipe of home by freshman catcher Zach McBride. The Seahawks (19-4) got half of their hits from graduate student Matt D'Amato (Midland Park, N.J.).

NOTEWORTHY

  • The loss ends Salve Regina's home winning streak at 27 games (19-0 at home in 2023; now 8-1 in 2024).
  • Trinity now has 32 stolen bases in 20 games, led by Tyler Bernstein (13).
