Keuka College Baseball Shutout by St. John Fisher on Saturday

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Baseball team lost on Saturday evening to St. John Fisher University 10-0 in an Empire 8 Conference game played at Finger Lakes Community College.

Tyler Lewandowski (Milltown, N.J. / Spotwood) had a single and stolen base for Keuka College (3-17, 2-5 Empire 8). RJ Murphy (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee) added a hit and Derek Novicki (North Haven, Conn. / North Haven) was on base all three times with three walks for the Wolves.

Starting pitcher Jesse Capitano (Depew, N.Y. / Depew) struck out a pair of Cardinals in each of the first two innings, but St. John Fisher took advantage of a pair of errors to score seven in the second to take control of the game.

Keuka College looked to quickly answer in the bottom of the second. Kyle Wood (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) led off with a walk and moved to second on a single by RJ Murphy. Novicki followed with a walk to load the bases. However, the next two batters struck out and a flyout would leave all three runners on base.

That would be Keuka's best chance to score on Saturday. St. John Fisher added single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to defeat the Wolves 10-0.

Up Next for Keuka College: The series between the Wolves and the Cardinals will continue on Monday at Finger Lakes Community College. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 3 p.m.
