#20 Rowan Rallies for 11-10 WIn at TCNJ

EWING, NJ – Kevin Stewart's sacrifice fly in the eighth inning drove in Karson Harcourt for the winning run as #20 Rowan rallied for an 11-10 win over TCNJ in NJAC baseball action today.

Rowan (18-9; 5-6) owned a 6-3 lead after three innings but saw TCNJ (18-10; 6-5) score seven over two innings to go up, 10-6, in the bottom of the sixth. The Profs made their comeback with four runs in the seventh and scoring the gamewinner in the eighth. Relievers Dylan Maria and Sean Colbert kept the Lions off the board through the final three innings. Maria (1-0) picking up the victory as he struck out three in 2.0 innings and Colbert earned his team-best fourth save of the year.

Tyler Cannon and Jason Morgan were each 3-for-4, scoring two runs and driving in one to lead the Profs, with Cannon hitting two doubles. Pat Defeciani, Phil Sedalis and Maria each had two RBI and Harcourt scored twice in the win.

The Profs' four-run rally in the sixth came by way of four hits, led by a two-run double from Sedalis and a two-run single by Defeciani to tie the game. Harcourt led off with a walk, advanced on a ground out by Chris Serrano and reached third on a wild pitch, getting into position for Stewart's game-winning sacrifice fly.

Rowan scored three runs in the first on back-to-back home runs by Maria and Morgan. Maria's team-high 11th home run scored Cannon, who led off the game with a double, while Morgan connected on his fourth of the season.

TCNJ scored twice in the bottom of that inning but Rowan added another on a single from Cannon to allow Harcourt to cross the plate. The Profs increased the lead to 6-2 when Morgan, who had doubled, scored on a bunt single from Serrano.

The Lions added one in the bottom of the third and scored seven in a row in the fifth and sixth innings, getting a total of nine hits during that time, to take a 10-6 lead and set the stage for Rowan's rally.

The teams will play again tomorrow in Glassboro, with first pitch at 3:30 p.m.
