May 6, 2025 Shipley retires after 25 years The Vermont State University Castleton Athletic Department announced the retirement of its longtime head baseball coach, Ted Shipley, on Tuesday, marking a well-decorated 25-year career with the Spartans.
February 26, 2020 Castleton opens day with win, Virginia Wesleyan gets upset Pitching and offense gave Castleton a win as they battled weather in Florida. back north, Salisbury moved off their campus for the first time and Virginia Wesleyan was inhospitable as they gave the No. 9 Sea Gulls their second loss of the season.
August 22, 2019 Riley named coach at Westminster Westminster (Pa.) has hired Patrick Riley as its head baseball coach for the 2020 season. Riley was the assistant coach for the Titans the past two seasons and replaces Kelly Swiney, who stepped down after two seasons to pursue another head coaching position.
March 15, 2019 Tufts start spring slate with big win Tufts exploded for 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning leading to a 17-2 victory over Castleton on Friday in Virginia. In Florida, two 1,000 win coaches squared off with No. 1 Wooster taking the spring contest from No. 9 Johns Hopkins.
March 13, 2019 Binder, Mikell, Thompson honored in third week of NCBWA awards Jacob Thompson, Oberlin, Jake Binder, Ithaca, and Davis Mikell, Castleton earned the rookie, pitcher and hitter awards presented by the NCBWA for this week.
