Covenant, Millsaps win openers over SLIAC teams
February 13, 2025Covenant defeated Greenville on Thursday and Millsaps got a win over MUW on Monday as both Region 6 teams opened their seasons. Between these wins, East Texas Baptist lost twice as they played SCIAC teams.

Opening weekend ends with redemption
February 09, 2025On Sunday, No. 10 East Texas Baptist and Methodist earned their first wins against the opponents that defeated them the day before. McMurry continued their undefeated run as did Averett.

Pomona takes two on day two of the D3 season
February 08, 2025Pomona-Pitzer continued their dominance over East Texas Baptist as they swept the doubleheader between ranked teams. MHBU got wins, 1, 2, 3 on the day and McMurry defeated No. 24 Rhodes

No. 5 ETBU has the inside track for a repeat World Series appearance but a trio from the SCIAC, the top of the SCAC and NWC will have something to say about that.

May 14, 2024Endicott received all 25 first place votes as they end the regular season as the top team in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. They are followed by Denison, Baldwin Wallace, East Texas Baptist and UW-Whitewater to round out the top five teams.

May 07, 2024Colby and Randolph-Macon swept their conference tournament games last weekend and as a result are back in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. The top three remain Endicott, Denison and East Texas Baptist (but in a different order than last week).

April 23, 2024Colby is one of four new teams to the D3baseball.com NCBWA Top 25 this week. East Texas Baptist made a move into the top 3 as Baldwin Wallace moved down one spot. Endicott continue to be the top team. Week 2,3 number one Shenandoah fell out this week.

Pierantoni, Gillen and Collins, honored with NCBWA honors
March 13, 2024East Texas Baptist University pitcher Sayers Collins collected the NCBWA NCAA Div. III Pitcher of the Week honors for the third time. A seven-home run week by Patrick Gillen and an 11-RBI week by Greg Pierantoni garnered the Hitter and Rookie of the Week awards for games played March 4-10.

Shutouts and crooked numbers on Friday
February 23, 2024Kalamazoo dominated their opener with shutout pitching and hots bats. East Texas Baptist did the same in a 18-0 whitewashing of Sul Ross State as did Hamline with a 15-0 win over Martin Luther as part of a sweep in Kansas. Methodist joined the parade with a 18-0 win over Penn State Abington.

2024 no-hitters
February 17, 2024Making a major statement, No. 5 East Texas Baptist pitchers, Sayers Collins and Robert Croft, combined for a no-hitter knocking off reigning national champions No. 6 Lynchburg, 5-0 to pitch the first no-hitter of the 2024 season.

February 09, 2024Pomona-Pitzer showed that good pitching can tame good hitting as they split with No. 5 Texas Baptist in the opener for both. The season that opened in Southern California and Texas last weekend expanded to the Northwest and Soutern parts of the nation.

ETBU Punches Ticket to Iowa in First-Ever Appearance in NCAA Tournament
May 27, 2023MARSHALL, Texas – Destiny continues to be on #15/19 East Texas Baptist University’s side as they punched their ticket to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament winning the Marshall, Texas Super Regional Championship. It took two games on day two of the Super Regional as ETBU won the final game, 14-6, over the University of Laverne after losing the first game of the day, 9-8. ETBU is now 40-13 on the year.

May 26, 2023MARSHALL, Texas – Throwing a no-hitter through four innings and allowing just one run, #15/19 East Texas Baptist University pitchers combined for a four-hit victory over the University of La Verne, 9-1. The Tigers have now won 39 games which continues to be a program best.

#15/19 ETBU Advances to First-Ever NCAA Regional Championship Game
May 20, 2023MARSHALL, Texas – Down 2-0 after four innings, #15/19 East Texas Baptist University scored nine runs in four of the final five innings for a 9-4 win over Trinity University advancing to the NCAA Division III Marshall, Texas Regional Championship game. It is the first program win over Trinity University and only the second meeting of the two teams as ETBU moves to 37-11 on the year.

ETBU Wins First-Ever ASC Championship; Scores Over 70 Runs in Six Games
May 07, 2023MARSHALL, Texas – Words cannot describe the moment that took place on Sunday evening at Woods Field as East Texas Baptist University won their first-ever American Southwest Conference Baseball Tournament Championship. #20 ETBU came out of the loser’s bracket and won five straight games to claim the championship defeating Hardin-Simmons University twice, 16-8, and 8-1 for the championship. The win put ETBU at 35-11 setting a new record for wins in a season as the 35 wins are third best in NCAA Division III this season behind #1 John Hopkins 39 wins and #3 Shenandoah’s 36 wins.

Barry, Weber, Rinehart honored honored with NCBWA award
April 19, 2023Home runs were the name of the game last week, as this week’s NCBWA Div. III Hitter and Rookie of the Week combined to hit eight and drive in 33. A two-hit nine-inning shutout claimed the Pitcher of the Week for games played April 10-16.
