Colby and Randolph-Macon swept their conference tournament games last weekend and as a result are back in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. The top three remain Endicott, Denison and East Texas Baptist (but in a different order than last week).
Colby is one of four new teams to the D3baseball.com NCBWA Top 25 this week. East Texas Baptist made a move into the top 3 as Baldwin Wallace moved down one spot. Endicott continue to be the top team. Week 2,3 number one Shenandoah fell out this week.
East Texas Baptist University pitcher Sayers Collins collected the NCBWA NCAA Div. III Pitcher of the Week honors for the third time. A seven-home run week by Patrick Gillen and an 11-RBI week by Greg Pierantoni garnered the Hitter and Rookie of the Week awards for games played March 4-10.
Kalamazoo dominated their opener with shutout pitching and hots bats. East Texas Baptist did the same in a 18-0 whitewashing of Sul Ross State as did Hamline with a 15-0 win over Martin Luther as part of a sweep in Kansas. Methodist joined the parade with a 18-0 win over Penn State Abington.

MARSHALL, Texas – Destiny continues to be on #15/19 East Texas Baptist University’s side as they punched their ticket to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament winning the Marshall, Texas Super Regional Championship. It took two games on day two of the Super Regional as ETBU won the final game, 14-6, over the University of Laverne after losing the first game of the day, 9-8. ETBU is now 40-13 on the year.

MARSHALL, Texas – Down 2-0 after four innings, #15/19 East Texas Baptist University scored nine runs in four of the final five innings for a 9-4 win over Trinity University advancing to the NCAA Division III Marshall, Texas Regional Championship game. It is the first program win over Trinity University and only the second meeting of the two teams as ETBU moves to 37-11 on the year.

MARSHALL, Texas – Words cannot describe the moment that took place on Sunday evening at Woods Field as East Texas Baptist University won their first-ever American Southwest Conference Baseball Tournament Championship. #20 ETBU came out of the loser’s bracket and won five straight games to claim the championship defeating Hardin-Simmons University twice, 16-8, and 8-1 for the championship. The win put ETBU at 35-11 setting a new record for wins in a season as the 35 wins are third best in NCAA Division III this season behind #1 John Hopkins 39 wins and #3 Shenandoah’s 36 wins.
Home runs were the name of the game last week, as this week’s NCBWA Div. III Hitter and Rookie of the Week combined to hit eight and drive in 33. A two-hit nine-inning shutout claimed the Pitcher of the Week for games played April 10-16.
No. 10 Baldwin Wallace stayed perfect on the year with a win over No. 17 Oswego State. USMMA head coach Michael Notebaert got his 250th career-win when Maritime swept Wells. in Texas, No. 24 ETBU secured a series sweep of Sul Ross on a high note, turning a triple play.
Pre-Covid, the West Region was the home of champions but since then, only one team has made the final eight. Trinity (Texas) has a shot to return and Chapman, who lost in the super-regionals, has one as well.
