Ithaca notched a 6-5 walkoff win over Trinity (Conn.) to win their fifth straight game. Kenyon also earned their fifth straight win as they continue to play on their spring break trip. UW-La Crosse, the last team in the Top 25 to open their season opened with a 8-3 win.
A new year means new hope for Region III as the smallest of Division III’s 10 regions looks to make it back to the World Series for the first time since 2021. Perennial regional powerhouses No. 10 Cortland State and No. 25 Ithaca open the season ranked in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 with St. John Fisher was one of many schools receiving votes.

Ithaca and Southern Maine were powerhouse teams in the 1990's and have met only five times before. The Huskies of USM earned the win on Sunday. Elsewhere in a battle of unbeatens, ECSU defeated Johns Hopkins in extra innings to keep their long winning streak active.

ITHACA, N.Y. – On Saturday evening, April 10, former Ithaca College baseball All-American Tim Locastro ’14 made Major League Baseball history with the Arizona Diamondbacks as he stole his 28th consecutive base without being caught to begin a career. According to the MLB, it was a record that has stood since 1951. His game-worn cleats are on their way to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.
ITHACA, N.Y. – For the second time in his career, senior Garrett Callaghan of the Ithaca College baseball team has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, which was announced on March 30.
Senior Garrett Callaghan went 6-for-9 in a March 27th doubleheader against Rochester and hit for the cycle in Game Two. The last Bomber to hit for the cycle was Andrew Bailey on April 28, 2018.
The Liberty League—of which Ithaca College is a member—has announced that the league’s Presidents Council has unanimously agreed on a plan for a return to athletics competition this spring. Under the plan, Liberty League competition will begin no earlier than the weekend of March 26, with competition predominantly taking place among league member institutions. Ithaca College student-athletes and team personnel will adhere to a rigorous COVID-19 testing protocol in order to ensure a healthy and safe environment for competition.
ITHACA, N.Y. – In the summer of 2019, George Valesente '66 announced his retirement after 41 seasons at the helm of Ithaca College Baseball. Beyond guiding the Bombers to a pair of national championships and 1,136 wins over his coaching career, Valesente has shaped and developed countless young men during formative years with a combination of high-level professionalism, meticulous attention to detail and the utmost character.
No. 18 Coe broke into the win column with a win over No. 2 Webster as they exit the Rhodes invitational 1-2. Dominican, Ithaca, and Johns Hopkins also scored their first wins of the season after dropping two to start the season.
Wells has hired Ryan Stevens as their new head coach. Stevens began his employment in September 2019 and is the second head coach in the young history of the Express program.
