Trevino throws no-hitter

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Junior Anthony Trevino threw a no-hitter for Sul Ross State on March 17, 2013 as the Lobos shutout Southwestern with a 12-0 win and took the series 3-0 Sunday afternoon.

Trevino received the win and improves to 1-1 on the season. He walked two batters and hit another as he face just one batter over the minimum. Trevino recorded three strikeouts in eight complete innings.

The Lobos would take a 1-0 lead in the third inning after an rbi-single by Josh Vasquez scored Johnny Campos.

Sul Ross would score a run in the fifth and then opened up the game putting up five runs in the sixth inning to take a 7-0 lead.

The Lobos would score two runs in the seventh and three runs in the eighth to end the game with a 12-0 victory.

Ely Gallego finished 3-for-5 with 5 RBI and run scored. Vasquez was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and a run scored.

The Lobos are now 9-12 on the season and will travel to Austin, TX to face Concordia (Texas) on March 22nd-23rd.
