With every player in the lineup collecting at least one hit, 22nd ranked Augustana putting on a hitting clinic against three Capital pitchers on Wednesday in a 12-3 win over Crusaders. The Vikings slugged 19 hits to move to 3-1 on the season. The beneficiary of all that offense was sophomore Walter White who went the distance in the rain-shortened contest. Originally scheduled for nine innings, the game was called in the top of the eighth with Augustana leading 19-3. The score reverted back to the last full inning completed, giving the Vikings a 12-3 win.
The Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets scored nine runs in four consecutive innings to defeat the Cardinals of Catholic University 9-6 at Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park. Down by eight runs in the eighth, Catholic put together a five run, seven hit rally to get within three but Randolph-Macon would hold on to take home the win.
In a battle of Mideast rivals, Alma and Capital each had early leads but the Crusaders were able to hang on and win 11-10. Capital would fall to Augustana and Alma would claim a 10-3 win over Grace.
