Hendrix got their season off on the right foot, downing NCAA Division II affiliate Harding 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon. The victory marks the Warriors' first win over a Division II team since the 2009 season when the squad beat Harding 15-7.  Five different Hendrix pitchers combined to baffle the Bisons, teaming for eight strikeouts while allowing just one unearned run.

Berry collected 13 hits and allowed just one earned run in an 8-3 win over LaGrange to stay unbeaten on the season. The Vikings plated four runs in the second inning and never looked back. Kevin Scott collected three singles in five trips to the plate. Alec Redden was 2-4 with one run scored for LaGrange.

Howard Payne held off a late rally to take their season opener 15-13 over Southwestern University at Don Shepard Park. The Yellow Jackets drove in 15 runs on 10 hits while allowing 13 runs on 12 hits and committing two errors. Howard Payne capitalized on 10 walks by Southwestern in the game.

Louisiana opened their season splitting a doubleheader with Texas College. In game one, Garrett Parsons led the Wildcats to a 14-2 win. Parsons hit two home runs and drove in five. Game two ended in favor of Texas College with the wildcats at the short end of a 9-8 score.

Beneath gray, rainy skies the No. 8 Cal Lutheran baseball team returned to action against Puget Sound of the Northwest Conference. The home team took the only game of a scheduled doubleheader by a score of 7-3 despite heavy rains falling over the last three innings. Following a nearly two hour weather delay the teams were unable to take the field for the second game, which has been officially cancelled. - See more at: http://www.clusports.com/baseball/news/11229/#sthash.jrOllxO7.dpuf
