Football scores are common on Sunday and Linfield and Pomona-Pitzer wins looked more like gridiron scores than baseball totals. Linfield defeated Texas-Dallas 22-10 and the Sagehens were a safety better than Puget Sound in a 19-17 win. Jake Bruml homered twice in a 10 run third inning to put Pomona Pitzer ahead for good and the Sagehens held on as the Loggers scored the final nine runs to fall short of a comeback win.

Adam Duncan went 5-5 with three runs and an RBI to lead Ferrum to a 14-9 non-conference win over visiting Hampden-Sydney at Panther Field. Cliff Alexander pitched 1.1 innings of middle relief to get the win, and Alex Brown pitched the final 2.1 innings to earn the save.

Freshman Rick Spiers ripped a two-run double to spark a five-run seventh and give Randolph-Macon a 12-8 victory over St. Mary's at Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park for a three-game series sweep.

Hunter Gallant went 3-for-6 with four RBIs, and freshman catcher Jack Brett blasted a two-run homer, to lead Willamette to a 12-6 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Willamette swept the four-game series while scoring 36 runs and limiting CMS to 14 runs. In all four games, WU scored in one or both of the final two innings. It is Willamette's first 4-0 start since 2006.
