Finlandia started their 2016 season sweeping a doubleheader from North Central (minn.) 7-1, 3-2. In game one, the Lions were led by Luke Paul on the mound and at the plate. Luke earned the win by pitching a complete game and striking out 7 batters while helping his cause with 2 hits and an RBI. Jordon Eaddy earned his first collegiate win by pitching 5 innings giving up 1 hit and had 2 strikeouts in game two.
Rose-Hulman pounded out 16 hits, including their season's first home run, in a convincing 9-0 win over Neumann on the team's Florida spring trip. Zach Trusk pounded a two-run home run and a double among three hits with three RBIs and two runs scored. Kody Alayon led the offensive onslaught with four hits and two runs scored in the leadoff spot.
No. 7 Salisbury pushed its winning streak to four-straight games, scoring four eighth-inning runs to defeat No. 24 Johns Hopkins, 9-5.
The Sea Gulls led for much of the game, but a home run off the bat of Ryan Orgielewicz in the top of the eighth tied the game, 5-5, for the Blue Jays. With only six-potential outs remaining before possible extra innings, the Sea Gulls only needed three to take back the lead when Kyle Goodwin single with the bases loaded made it 6-5. The Sea Gulls tacked on three more before the inning ended.
James Sink plated Mitch Moynihan with the game's lone run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to propel the 18th ranked Mary Washington to a 1-0 victory over Plattsburgh State in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The game was a pitcher's duel classic, with UMW's Nick McIntyre throwing a nine-inning complete game shutout, walking one and striking out 10 while allowing just two hits. Plattsburgh State's Ross Levinson scattered eight hits in 8.1 innings, walking one and striking out one.
Newbury opened the 2016 season sweeping a twin-bill against non-conference, Maine-Presque Isle following an extra inning 5-4 win in game one and a 5-0 shut-out in game two. The Owls forced game one into extra innings with a tying run and two innings later saw a one rune lead in the ninth evaporate as the Nighthawks walked off with the win. In game two 2014 NECC Rookie of the Year, right-hander Ethan Forrest was in mid season form in the shutout win.
Alma and Saint Vincent combined for 24 runs on, but the Scots were able to pull out the victory, defeating the Bearcats 14-10. The Scots scored four runs in the third, fifth, and eighth innings en route to the win while collecting 15 hits. Matthew Minaudo was one of five Alma players with multiple hits, registering a team-high three hits and a pair of RBIs while also scoring three times.

It was a tight game in Auburndale, Fla., as John Carroll battled Wartburg to a 1-1 tie through seven innings. In the eighth, the Blue Streaks took charge. Four JCU runners touched home in an eighth inning rally that gave the Blue Streaks a 5-1 win over Wartburg at Lake Myrtle Park. It is the second time this week that John Carroll has topped the nation's #21 team, outscoring the Knights 16-1 in the series.
Powered by a six-run seventh inning, Christopher Newport registered their sixth come-from-behind victory in nine wins already this season, taking down Bridgewater (Va.) by a final score of 10-8. Facing a four-run deficit, the 24th-ranked CNU offense was sparked by a game-tying three-run triple from pinch hitter Josh Moore, and the bullpen took over from there.
Sophomore shortstop Joe Lozupone went 3-for-4 with two doubles to spark visiting Washington College to a 5-1 win over host Gallaudet at Hoy Field. The Shoremen now lead the all-time series 29-7-1 that dates back to 1899.
A four-run first inning gave Franklin & Marshall a lead it would not relinquish as the Diplomats downed Messiah by a 7-3 score. Dan Marano paced the offense with a 3-for-5 day at the plate to go along with two RBIs and two runs scored. The win was the first of the season for F&M.
St. John Fisher earned an impressive 7-1 win over Ohio Northern at the RussMatt Central Florida Tournament in Winter Haven. Pitcher Dominick Pisciotto earned the win on the mound for Fisher, scattering five hits over five scoreless innings, while striking out five.
SUNY Old Westbury rallied past the Olivet Comets with a five-run ninth inning to come away with an 8-7 victory from Terry Park in Fort Myers, Florida. With the bases loaded in the ninth, Jesse Russo delivered a two-run single to make it 7-5. Four batters later, Michael Cardino sent a three-run double off the left-field wall to send the Panthers to a walk-off victory.
