Hampden-Sydney picked up a key conference win, defeating Virginia Wesleyan 6-4. The Tigers now have just two conference games remaining in the regular season. They now stand at 15-18 overall and 8-10 in ODAC play. The Marlins drop to 24-11 on the season and 14-4 in league play. On the mound, Jonathon Triesler threw the first 2.1 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts. Jimmy Butler allowed one unearned run on four hits with six strikeouts in four innings of work. Trey Celata threw 1.2 scoreless innings, and Bradford Webb closed out the game to pick up his first save of the season.Offensively, the Tigers had ten hits, with Chase Counts, Matthew Spagnolo, and Moe Gothe each had two.
Keystone College took another step towards locking up the top seed in the upcoming CSAC tournament with a 10-2 victory over Marywood at Christy Mathewson Field. With just four conference games remaining, the Giants are four games up in the win column on Immaculata and Gwynedd Mercy after belting 10 hits and coming up with several key defense plays in today's win over the Pacers, which was Keystone's ninth straight and 21st in its last 23 games to improve to 24-7 overall and 12-0 in league play. The loss drops Marywood to 14-14 overall and 4-6 in the CSAC.
Franklin stepped out of conference play, taking on DePauw in search of a season sweep of their in-state rival. Six different Grizzlies (29-2) drove in at least one run with Ryan Erlandson, Ryan Bixler and Alex Mis plating two runs each. Erlandson also matched the program record for walks drawn in a season with a third inning free pass that gives him 39 on the year. Four Franklin pitchers combined to allow just two hits as the team recorded their first shutout of the year.
Castleton used a strong rally in game one and stellar pitching in game two to earn a doubleheader sweep over New England College, 12-8 and 4-2, in North Atlantic Conference action at Spartan Field.
With the wins, Castleton extended its winning streak to 14 consecutive games and finished the regular season unbeaten at home with a 10-0 mark. The Spartans improved to 24-9 overall and 18-2 in conference play, while New England College fell to 21-13 on the season and 10-8 in NAC action with the losses.
Sophomore Nate Tellier blasted a pair of homers on his way to tallying three RBI, while senior Zack Reid was perfect out of the bullpen with four sensational innings to pilot the UMass-Dartmouth to an exciting 4-3 victory over Suffolk at the UMD baseball field. Reid was absolutely brilliant out of the pen, pinpointing 34 of his 47 pitches for strikes across four perfect shutout innings. The righty faced the minimum 12 batters across the four frames, not allowing a single baserunner and picking up a pair of strikeouts to seal the win.
Endicott notched a 6-4 non-conference victory over Tufts at Huskins Field. Alexander Zaiser earned the win (1-0) in relief on one scoreless inning in the seventh. Victor Molle also threw a scoreless eighth inning to bridge the gap to junior right-handed closer Will Bryant who recorded his 10th save of the season via two hits and two strikeouts. Tufts' starter Manny Ray took the loss (0-1) via eight innings of work, six hits, five runs (two earned), three walks, and four punchouts. Down 4-3 headed into the seventh, the Gulls scored solo runs in each frame to improve to 13-4 on the road this year.
Penn State Behrend took down D'Youville 13-2 and 6-5 in a pair of AMCC pair of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) games. Mason McGuire went 5-for-7 on the day to lead the Lions (18-13, 9-5 AMCC) at the plate. He went 3-for-4 in game two with two RBIs and a run scored. Justin Foreman led the team in RBIs in both games, registering three in each. He roped a three-run bomb in the first game, followed by a bases-clearing double that scored three in game two.
Freshman Sam Troiano hit a two-out solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to ignite a three-run rally as Southern Maine came from behind to defeat the visiting Wheaton Lyons 6-4 in non-conference action at Ed Flaherty Field. The win was the fourth straight for the Huskies who improve to 22-8 on the season and moves veteran head coach Ed Flaherty within four wins of becoming the 11th coach in NCAA Division III history to reach 1,000 career wins. The Lyons fall to 20-14 with the loss.
Logan Sullo set the all-time Massachusetts Maritime Academy career home run record as the Buccaneers put on one of their most complete offensive performances of the year in a 10-4 victory over visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology. Brian Kwedor tossed a complete game as the Bucs prepared for the final push for a MASCAC title. Maritime's senior catcher struck Winch's first pitch with his finest longball swing and the no-doubt round-tripper etched Sullo's names in the Buccaneer baseball record book. Sullo as six home runs for the year and 16 for his career, besting Matt Scioletti's 15 from 1997-2000.

Baldwin-Wallace added to their playoff hopes with a win over fellow regionally ranked Washington & Jefferson. The Yellow Jackets won 7-0 in nonconference action on Thursday night. The loss drops the Presidents to 21-11-1 overall this season while the Yellow Jackets improve to 24-9. The Yellow Jackets scored first in the game with one run in the first and two runs in the second inning. Over the third to fifth innings, both teams were held scoreless by opposing pitching before Baldwin Wallace struck for three runs on two hits in the top of the sixth to extend the lead to 6-0. Baldwin Wallace scored its final run in the top of the seventh on two hits.
Defiance swept HCAC foe Manchester in walk-off fashion on Thursday at Craig A. Rutter Field. Defiance won game one 6-5 and captured the night cap 6-0. The Purple and Gold we led on the day by junior Michael Gilliland and sophomore Jon Brown. Gilliland led Defiance in game one going 3-for-5 including a walk-off home run to left field. Brown displayed a dominate performance in game two on the mound for the Yellow Jackets pitching a complete game shutout en route to his fifth victory of the season.
Seniors Cole Migliorini and Joseph Tuzzolo combined for seven hits and nine RBI as fourth-ranked Randolph-Macon topped St. Mary's 14-3 Thursday afternoon on Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park. The Yellow Jackets improved to 27-4-1, while the Seahawks dropped to 10-17. Migliorini went 4 for 4 with a triple, a homer, four runs and four RBI. Tuzzolo had three hits and knocked in five for the Yellow Jackets.
Mount Union scored a season-high 20 runs on 22 hits to defeat Hiram, 20-4 in a non-conference game at 23rd Street Field. The Purple Raiders are now 19-11 on the season while Hiram falls to 4-22. Senior designated hitter Joey Keleman had a double, two singles and a three-run home run to center field as he finished 4-for-4 for five runs batted in to pace the Mount Union offense. Senior Billy Goodall and sophomore Shawn Baker each had three hits while freshman Ryan Boyd drove in a run on two hits and Nathan Duliba had two hits for the Raiders.
A battle between the top two teams in the New England Collegiate Conference resulted in a 7-5 victory for Mitchell as it hosted Lesley at Alumni Field. The win gave the Mariners (24-7 overall, 12-2 NECC) a sweep of the regular season series and a 1.5 game lead for first place in the NECC standings. Garet Griffin blasted a pair of solo homers and scored three runs in the contest to lead Mitchell.
Shortstop Austin Unglaub drew a walk with the bases loaded forcing home the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as Ramapo slipped past Montclair State 4-3 at Yogi Berra Stadium. Centerfielder Joe Maugeri went 4-for-4 and scored two runs as the Roadrunners (26-11, 10-5 NJAC) grabbed the first game of what was to be a home-and-home series. The two will meet again on Friday, April 27 at Yogi Berra Stadium beginning at 3:30 pm with Ramapo serving as the home team for the contest.
A huge eighth inning lifted homestanding Ithaca to a 17-12 victory over Rochester at Freeman Field. The host Bombers (19-13), scored a whopping 11 times in the eighth, rallying from as many as seven runs down in the game to post their fifth win in the last six games. Rochester falls to 11-12 on the season with the loss, snapping a four-game win streak. Jack Herman had a big game at the plate for the Yellowjackets, going 3-4 with a double, triple and two RBI. Tyler Schmidt recorded two hits, three RBI and three runs scored.
With Nick Leduc on second base in the bottom of the tenth inning, freshman outfielder Jack Cooney roped a double off the left-field wall to lift Springfield to a 5-4 extra-inning victory over regional-rival Amherst at Archie Allen Field. With the win, the Pride, which was ranked No. 13 in the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the spring, improves to 23-11-2 overall, while Amherst, which was No. 14 in New England, falls to 17-9 on the year. Sophomore Cole Donovan earned the victory for the Pride as he came in an worked through 1.2 innings, giving up just one hit, while making his first-career start, freshman Noah Bleakley held the Mammoths to just one hit over the first 5.0 frames. Amherst reliever Zach Horwitz took the loss, giving up one earned run and two hits, while the Mammoth's starter, Andrew Ferrero pitched an effective 6.0 innings, giving up six hits while striking out five. Leading the Pride offensively was Chad Shade and Brandon Russo, as Shade went 3-for-5 with two RBI and pushed his stolen base total to 31 with a pair in the win. Russo was 3-for-4 while Cooney had two hits and two RBI.
Roger Williams took home the win late against cross-town rival, Johnson & Wales University, Thursday afternoon. The Hawks defeated the Wildcats 4-2. Chris Flynn got the win for the Hawks and Matt Vernacatola will get his first save on the year. Rob Ballinger (0-1) will be recorded the loss for Johnson & Wales.
