Case Western Reserve opened its 2019 home campaign with a doubleheader sweep over Allegheny , defeating the Gators 11-4 in game one, and picking up a 4-3 win in its final at bat in the second affair on the day on Saturday at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland, Ohio. The wins were the first two of the season for the Spartans, who improved to 2-3 overall, while Allegheny dropped to 0-5 with the setbacks.

Centre split two evenly-matched games against Millsaps to open SAA play at Twenty Field.  The Colonels (7-2, 1-1 SAA) fell 6-5 in 10 innings in the opener before rallying to a 2-1 victory in the seven-inning closer against the Majors (3-10, 1-1). In both games, the winner found themselves down after five innings and needed late runs to prevail.

Eight different Tornados recorded a base hit and the Concordia Texas finished off a sweep of Ozarks with a 6-2 win at Lonnie R. Qualls baseball field. On the hill, five different CTX pitchers combined to give up just two runs on nine hits and strikeout six to help the Tornados move to 11-1, 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play.

Earlham scored 25 runs in two games to sweep Wilmington 9-1 and 16-6 in a doubleheader played at Randal R. Sadler Stadium. The Hustlin' Quakers also defeated the Fightin' Quakers in a single game on Friday, giving Earlham a point in the Quaker Bowl Rivalry season series. Earlham finished with 19 hits including five extra-base hits. The hosts also stole a dozen bases.

Hard work, grit, and determination were going to be the words of the weekend for Stevenson as they spent four hours shoveling snow on Friday and a few hours prior to their game on Saturday just to get Sugar Field up to playable conditions.  Once that task was finished there was a game today as the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts was the opponent that awaited the Mustangs.  Stevenson fell behind early but rallied back to down the Trailblazers by a 7-4 final.

Down 7-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning Penn State Abington rallied past Neumann to a close 11-10 win at the RussMatt Baseball invitational. The Nittany Lions improve to 3-3 for the season. Junior pitcher Nick Hopely picked up his second win in as many days after a solid outing on the mound. At the plate Darren Aupperle led the way for the Nittany Lions going 3-of-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Frostburg State collected its third sweep of the spring campaign with a pair of wins over RIT at the Hampden-Sydney Tournament. Junior Andrew Kasiski had two doubles and two RBIs, while sophomore Ryan Clawson had one hit and two RBIs, to lead Hampden-Sydney to a 7-1 non-conference victory past St. Mary's (Md.) at Yank Bernier Field at the Ty Cobb Ballpark - Wurdeman Stadium. Junior Chase Mayberry earned the pitching win for the host Tigers (4-3), while sophomore Bradford Webb gained a save against the visiting Seahawks (4-2). H-SC had seven runs on 10 hits … scoring one run in the second inning, three in the fifth and three in the seventh. The Tigers led 4-0 through five innings and 7-1 through seven as the game was called in the eighth inning due to darkness.

The Lehman Lightning (2-3) defeated Manchester 7-6 in 10 innings at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was their third game in 24 hours. Lehman produced the winning run in the top of the tenth as Jeremmy Santos led off the frame with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Henry Gonzalez then sacrificed Santos to third and Geraldo Rodriguez singled to left with the game winner. Gonzalez, Santos and Michael Zerbo each were credited with two runs scored. The Lightning pounded out 14 hits on the afternoon; Santos led the way with four hits, Mark Vargas three and Anthony Riley two.

For the first time since 2016 in the series history and for the first time since 1972 in Forest Grove, Pacific swept a doubleheader from Linfield with a 3-1 win in game one and 6-5 victory in the nightcap. The two wins extend the Boxers winning streak to nine games and raises the overall record to 11-3, 5-0 in the Northwest Conference. The last nine game win streak for Pacific came during the 2016 season. The Wildcats fall to 3-8 overall and 1-4 in the Northwest Conference. In game one, Pacific got another masterful performance from pitcher Casey Brown, who pitched his third-consecutive game. Brown limited the Wildcats to just seven hits and matched a season-high 11 strikeouts in the win to raise his record to 3-0 and lower his ERA to 1.83. The nightcap saw the Boxers lead the whole game despite a late threat by the visitors from McMinnville. The Boxers had just five hits from five-different players in the game. Brad Altomare took advantage of being inserted into the starting lineup to have a hit and two RBI, plus Dylan Morgan and Chase Anderson each scored twice for Pacific.

Baldwin Wallace opened their spring break trip with a non-conference doubleheader in the RussMatt Classic against St. John Fisher, at Polk State Stadium. BW (2-2) notched nine runs off nine hits in game one as it plated two runs in the first, four runs in the second, two in the sixth and one in the ninth for the 9-1 victory. St. John Fisher (1-2) scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth. In game two the Yellow Jackets scored five runs off eight hits. After falling behind 2-0 in the first, BW scored two in the second, one in the third, one in the fifth and sixth to seal the 5-2 victory. The pair of runs in the first were the only runs the Cardinals plated in game two.

Catholic got its first wins of the season in a sweep against the McDaniel Green Terror at Blandair Park in Columbia, Md. The Cardinals' offense had its best showing of the young season, scoring 23 runs with 26 hits in two contests against McDaniel. Senior Jon Mierzwa led the team on the mound with six scoreless innings in the opener. The pitcher from Laurel, Md. threw 85 pitches in six frames, giving up zero earned runs on just three hits. Sophomore Ethan Risse closed things out in the seventh inning. Sean Dempsey was another senior that made a big impact in game one of the doubleheader. Dempsey had two hits, scored a run, and had an RBI in the fourth inning while catching behind the plate for Catholic. The Cardinals exploded for 17 runs in a high-scoring affair in game two, defeating McDaniel (0-4) 17-9. Catholic had two five-run innings and used 17 base hits to get its second win of the year. Juniors Connor Sullivan and Will Pyne both had three hits each to lead the team.

A barrage of late-inning runs broke open a close game early on as Franklin & Marshall erupted for a 21-6 win over Gallaudet in Washington, D.C. The non-conference win allowed the Diplomats to remain unbeaten on the year at 3-0 while the Bison fell to 2-4. J.J. Freeman had a career day at the leadoff stop with a 3-for-6 effort with four runs scored, and four batted in. Dan Marano was 3-for-5 with one run scored and an RBI. Kelsey Launi went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored while Will Samuel was 2-for-6 with four RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

Mount Aloysius opened its season, playing in two tight contests at Emory & Henry. The Mounties were able to win the opener 5-4, but lost the second in walk-off fashion 2-1. Preseason All-american Matthew McCourt was the star in game one with two home runs, including the game winner in the seventh inning. In game two, each team traded single runs until the seventh where the Wasps got the walk-off victory on a two-out infield single by Logan Forster.

Hanover concluded its annual Florida Winter Break Trip with a 2-0 win over Cabrini. The Panthers finish their season-opening trip with a 4-2 record, marking the fifth time since 2010 the program has returned home above .500. The shutout was also just the third for the Hanover pitching staff in the past five seasons. The Blue and Red received a quality start from junior Zach Chapman, as the southpaw worked around three hits and five walks by Cabrini (7-3) to blank the Cavaliers over six innings of work. Chapman worked out of jams in the first, second and fifth innings, and also retired the side in order in the fourth.

Emory split a doubleheader with Roanoke at Chappell Park in Atlanta. With the split, the Eagles moved to 6-3 overall while the Maroons improved to 2-3. Freshman Zeke Diamond supplied the heroics for the home team in the first game of the afternoon, driving in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth for the walk off win. In the night cap, Roanoke saw four pitchers combine to limit the Emory offense to just three hits to earn the split.

Monmouth split their decisions on their Opening Day in Fort Pierce, Fla., winning in eight innings over Eastern Nazarene 5-4 before dropping a 2-0 decision in the nightcap. Tyler McDonald worked five solid innings, striking out eight before turning the game over to the bullpen in the sixth trailing 3-0. Monmouth took the lead in the seventh, putting their first four runners on and getting a two-run hit from Tyler Ulfig to take a 4-3 lead. The Lions knotted the game in the bottom of the inning but Monmouth plated the winning run an inning later when Jake Starkey followed with a double to bring Anthony Ruggles home. Runs and hits were hard to come by in the nightcap as Eastern Nazarene scored a pair of late runs to sink the Scots' bid for a sweep.

After waiting an extra day to kickoff its 2019 campaign, the Wheaton (ill.) Thunder swept a doubleheader at Covenant by scores of 3-1 and 9-7. Entering the game on a seven-game winning streak, Covenant drops to 7-3 on the season. Wheaton will sport a 2-0 record when the Thunder head to Fort Pierce, Florida, for its annual spring break trip, kicking off with a doubleheader against Norwich on Saturday, March 9.

Kyle Trombley blasted a 3-run home run and Steve Pickering added an RBI single in a four run 8th inning as Rochester topped Virginia Wesleyan 4-2 in its season opener. Rochester (1-1) and Virginia Wesleyan (2-4) ended up splitting a doubleheader, as the host Marlins scraped out a 2-1 victory in the nightcap.

In their 2019 season opener, the St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) (1-0-1) picked up a win in game one and followed with a game two tie in a doubleheader at Wesley (0-3-1). The Bears used a five-run fifth inning to pick up an 8-4 win in game one and tied the hosts 5-5 as game two was called due to darkness. Senior Adam Schwartz went 3-for-6 on the day with two runs, an RBI, and a double.

Transylvania completed a busy three-game series against Chicago at Marquard Field with a two-game split in the 2019 home opener. Opening up the weekend in nearby Wilmore on the campus of Asbury University on Friday night, the Maroons used big early innings to pick up a 16-3 victory over the Pioneers in the series opener. The series continued on Saturday as the Pioneers played at home for the first time in 2019 and delivered a bounce back 7-3 win in the afternoon opener of the doubleheader. Chicago answered with a 6-1 win in Saturday's nightcap to close out the series. The Pioneers unleashed the offensive firepower in Saturday's opener against Chicago, outhitting the Maroons 9 to 8. Lead-off hitter Riley Willbur keyed the attack with a 3-for-5 day at the plate and an RBI.

Bethany swept Pitt-Greensburg in a non-conference doubleheader at Bethany Park. Bethany defeated Pitt-Greensburg, 5-1, in the opener and 7-4 in the nightcap. The Bisons trailed in both games, taking advantage of errors in game one and finishing game two with a crooked number to bring home a win. The Bison are now 6-0.

Highlighted by a five-RBI day from junior Will Krushena, Denison traveled to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where the Big Red swept a neutral site doubleheader with Alfred State to the tune of 5-3 in game one, and 7-2 in the second game of the day at Bob Wren Stadium.
