Six days after his first ineffective opening-day start in three season, senior righty Jordan Muchin rebounded with one of the best performances of his four-year career, shutting out No. 1 Wooster on four hits in his eight-inning stint in Eastern Connecticut State's 7-0 win Sunday morning at South County Regional Park. Less than a week after allowing six earned runs in four innings in the team's opening-day 9-4 loss to LaRoche at Port Charlotte, Muchin was masterful against Wooster (4-2), last year's Mideast Regional champion and 40-game winner which is ranked No. 1 in the most recent Division III national poll. It was the first meeting between the programs.

Berry defeated the No. 16 Cortland Red Dragons 10-9 in walk-off fashion on a Quinn Smith single that drove in Spence Johns to score the winning run. The win pushed Berry's record to 14-6. Cortland took a lead in the 8th, plating four runs. but Berry answered, plating three in the bottom of the eighth abd two in the ninth for the walk-off victory.

In a matchup of two of the top teams in Division III, St. John Fisher posted another win against a top 25 opponent as the Cardinals took down No. 24 Kean, 4-3, on Sunday at Jim Hynes Stadium.  With the win, Fisher, which has already posted three wins this year against nationally-ranked teams, improved to 7-3 on the season while the Cougars slipped to 10-5 overall. R.J. Kuruts started on the mound and allowed three earned runs on five hits to go along with two strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. Matthew Raudelunas (1-0) threw the final 1.2 innings and yielded just one walk in that stretch with four Ks for his first collegiate win.

Rhodes defeated Birmingham-Southern 9-6 on 14 hits, taking two games on the road from the No. 23-ranked Panthers. On Saturday, BSC took game one 6-5 before Rhodes won the second game 10-2. The Lynx move to 10-10 overall and 3-3 in conference while BSC drops to 15-6 and 4-2.

Matthew Williams was nearly untouchable as he tossed his third consecutive complete game shutout and No. 13 Concordia Texas took down No. 2 Rowan 2-0 at the RussMatt Invitational on Sunday at Lake Myrtle Sports Park. Williams would go the distance for the Tornados, allowing four hits, one walk over nine innings while striking out eight Profs. He extended his scoreless inning streak to 23 and remains undefeated on the season, picking up his fifth win.

The No. 22 Salisbury Sea Bulls completed a three-game weekend series sweep, defeating the visiting Mary Washington, 11-5. Zach Amisano (3-0) earned the victory, pitching six strong innings for the Sea Gulls while allowing only one earned run and striking out four batters.

Senior Mohammed Hussein finished 4-for-5 with three singles and a double as No. 17 Keystone fell to Bradley 18-1 in a Division III/Division I matchup. The Giants conclude their spring break trip at 3-5 overall and will return north to face Kean on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. Bradley improves to 8-5 on the year. Junior Adam Kelly and senior Anthony Ferrezza ripped doubles while senior Ronald Medina, junior Joe Fichera and freshman Devin Reed all tallied base knocks as Keystone finished with nine hits against the Braves.

The third-ranked Trinity (Texas) swept a three-game SCAC series with a 10-5 victory over the University of Dallas. Logan Morrison went 3-4 with three runs scored in the game, including a home run that was his first this season and the third of his career. Jake Martin went 2-4 with two runs scored and plastered his 11th career home run, which was his second in as many days. Rafe Chaumette went 2-3 with his team-leading 17th RBI of the season, as well as coming around to score a run.

After picking up a hard earned win over Ramapo yesterday, No 7 Concordia-Chicago looked to go a perfect 6-0 over the Florida trip while extending their win streak today against the College of New Jersey. The game had a postseason feel to it from start to finish, and it was the Cougars who were able to plate the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to win 3-2.

Capping off a weekend that saw the fourth-ranked Christopher Newport score 50 runs in three games, the Captains (13-2, 3-0) closed out a three-game sweep of Frostburg State (10-3, 0-3) with a 14-6 win over the Bobcats. Seniors Seth Woodard and Nicholas Baham combined for 7 RBI with three hits apiece to lead the way. The Captains put up a six-spot in the bottom of the first inning and cruised from there. CNU scored in five of their eight trips to the plate with multiple runs scored in four of those frames.

Junior Ben Lambert combined with three relievers to spin a five-hit shutout as the #12 Southern Maine Huskies defeated UW-La Crosse 2-0 at the Lake Myrtle Park complex. The win was the third straight for the Huskies on their seven-game Florida swing, and improved their overall record to 4-1.  The Eagles, on their season-opening nine-game Florida trip, slipped to 0-2 after their second loss in two days to a top 25 team. Lambert went seven innings allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight to earn his first win of the season.  Senior Jake Dexter, the third USM reliever, earned his first save of season getting the final four outs.

Johns Hopkins scored six first-inning runs as the Blue Jays snapped their two-game losing streak with a commanding 15-1 victory over Edgewood. JHU batters worked a season-high 12 walks in the games while the Hopkins pitchers gave up just one walk. The 15 runs are the most Hopkins has scored in a game this season.

Wallace Henry pitched nine scoreless innings and the 11th-ranked Huntingdon Hawks put together a season-high 18 hits in a 7-0 win over Brevard. The Hawks scored all seven runs in the final two innings. The win gave Huntingdon its third conference series win of the season. In the first two games of the Brevard series, the Hawks (16-3, 8-3 USA South) lost 2-1 and won 5-1. Pitching and defense set the tone early for Huntingdon as Henry (3-1) turned in the Hawks' first complete game of the season. The junior struck out six, walked two and scattered five hits in the win, while forcing 11 ground outs and six fly outs. Henry faced just three batters in five innings and did not face more than five batters in any inning.
