| Senior Day was a sweeping success Monday afternoon at Fishbaugh Field, as Otterbein carried back its momentum from Marietta and grabbed two more victories against a solid Penn State Behrend club. The Cardinals, returning to campus around midnight after clinching a spot in the OAC Tournament and getting head coach George Powell his 500th career win, got right back on the diamond against the Lions for a pair of seven-inning contests, winning 1-0, 9-0. Sophomore Tyler Bell fired a complete-game three-hitter and junior Sean Harrington hit a three-run homer as No. 7 Babson defeated WPI, 7-0, in a NEWMAC Tournament elimination game on Monday morning at the New England Baseball Complex. Babson, which avenged a loss to the Engineers in Friday's tournament opener, improve to 32-6 on the year and will now host fourth-seeded MIT in the championship round of the playoffs. Second-seeded WPI sees its year come to a close at 23-16. Bell (3-0) struck out five and did not allow a hit until the fifth while extending scoreless streak to 29.0 innings going back to March 25. In addition to his home run Harrington was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, while junior Matthew Valente singled twice and scored a run for the Beavers. Seniors Connor Gill, classmate Nicholas Browne and first-year Thomas Lapham each chipped in with an RBI.

Salve Regina (25-15) welcomed May back by welcoming Patrick Maybach to its starting rotation, just in time to pitch 6.1 innings and lead the Seahawks into their fourth-straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship series with a 5-3 victory over top-seeded Western New England (23-14) at Trelease Memorial Baseball Park on Monday afternoon. The junior left-hander, missing in action since late March, allowed two earned runs on eight hits while striking out five Golden Bears.
First-year RHP Cameron Crowley improved to 8-0 on the hill, tossing 7.1 scoreless innings and allowing three hits with five strikeouts as the visiting Trinity College Bantams blanked the Wesleyan University Cardinals 2-0 this afternoon. Trinity closes the regular season with a 27-7 record and hopes to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament later this month. The Cardinals close the year at 17-18.
Tied 4-4 with one out in the top of the 12th, Farmingdale State's Cam Alfano executed a squeeze bunt to score Tyler Schrimpf and put the Rams ahead by one. Top-seeded FSC held on for the 5-4 victory over #2 Merchant Marine in the Skyline Conference Championship. Merchant Marine had to turn around and face Old Westbury in an elimination game. Old Westbury defeated the Mariners 8-4 to secure a spot with Farmingdale State in the Championship game on Tuesday.
Shenandoah University punched its ticket into the ODAC Baseball Tournament "Final Four" with a 7-6 win over Hampden-Sydney Monday afternoon. The third-seeded Hornets (28-11) swept the Tigers (17-19-2) with a 5-0 win Saturday and the one-run victory Monday. SU advances to a 7:30 game Friday night versus second-seeded Roanoke at Haley Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark in Salem, Virginia. Shenandoah scored the winning run in the top of the seventh (SU was playing as the visitor by tournament rule) as Robert Marcelle opened the frame with a double down the left field line and eventually scored on Jamie Naill's sacrifice fly into left center.
Senior Jackson Schnettler closed his collegiate career in style with a four-hit shutout to lead St. Thomas (Minn.) to a 1-0 walk-off victory over Wartburg in non-conference play Monday at Koch Diamond. The Knights won game two 6-1 for a split of the season-ending doubleheader. Another St. Thomas senior, Evan Kolker, had a two-out double in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Dan Bollinberg with the winning run. In was the first pitching victory in five season starts for Schnettler (1-2), who struck out four and walked just one. He retired 20 of the final 23 batters he faced. In the night cap, St. Thomas left nine on base, including the bases loaded in the third and seventh innings. The Tommies closed the season 20-17 and placed fifth of 11 teams in the MIAC standings. Nine seniors will be lost to graduation, including ace picther Henry DeCaster and three-year starting OF Sam Cobbs.
