The 12th ranked Webster University Gorloks were back in action Saturday when they traveled to Fulton, Missouri, to take on the Westminster (Mo.) College Blue Jays for a SLIAC doubleheader. The Gorloks swept the doubleheader as they won the first game by a final score 5-1 and the second game by a final score of 11-0 to improve to 13-5 on the season and 3-2 in SLIAC play. The Blue Jays drop to 4-16 with the sweep.

William Paterson (12-8, 0-2 NJAC) saw its doubleheader split with No. 7 Rowan (15-4, 2-0 NJAC) slip away in the ninth inning of game two, falling 14-10 after a 16-0 first-game loss during both teams' New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opener April 2 at Jeff Albies Field. Three walks, two on full counts, loaded the bases for the Profs to start the top of the ninth inning. A fielder's choice scored one run, but a fly ball during the next at-bat made it two outs and a 10-7 score with runners on the corners. The Pioneers thought they had ended the game on an 0-2 pitch, but instead the call was ball one, and on the very next pitch Rowan hit an RBI-single to left. That opened up the gates for the Profs, who went on to score six more runs and take a 14-10 lead.

No. 24 Arcadia University continued its winning ways on Saturday afternoon, sweeping both ends of its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom doubleheader at Misericordia University by 11-3 and 4-0 finals, respectively. Hunter Curley earned the win for Arcadia in game one, allowing three runs in a complete-game effort with three strikeouts and two walks while scattering seven hits. Connor Cheeseman led the offense in game one, going 4-for-4 seven RBI's and two runs scored while Griffin Murphy went 3-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI. Hunter Sibley put forth a dominating effort in the night cap, allowing just three hits and zero walks while striking out nine in the complete-game shutout effort to earn the victory. Matt Donchez led the offense in game two going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI while Murphy was 2-for-3.

Mat Bruno homered twice and drove in five runs as Cortland defeated visiting Fredonia, 11-4, in the opening game of a SUNYAC doubleheader. The nationally sixth-ranked Red Dragons (18-6, 5-0 SUNYAC) completed the sweep with a 9-2 win in the seven-inning nightcap, breaking open a tie game with two runs in the fifth and six in sixth. In game one, Anthony Fusco allowed just two hits and one run with four strikeouts and no walks over six innings to improve to 4-1 on the season. He retired the first 12 batters he faced before allowing a Pat Bigham leadoff single in the fifth. Brendan Disonell pitched a perfect seventh and eighth innings with three strikeouts. Fredonia scored three of its four runs in the ninth. The first four innings the game shaped up as a duel between Cortland starting pitcher Ryan Flansburg and Fredonia starter Nathan O'Brochta until the Red Dragons broke the game open with a six-run sixth inning. Flansburg notched the win, going five innings and allowing one run on six hits with four strikeouts and a walk.

against Muskingum University on Fisher Field. The
Yellow Jackets (17-3, 3-1 OAC) defeated the Fighting
Muskies (10-9, 1-3 OAC) in big 7-1 and 8-1 wins. In
his second at-bat of game one, in the fourth inning,
Alex Ludwick's hit to the second baseman garnered
him the BW career hits record. After today's games,
Ludwick holds the record at 245 career hits.

Kean University got off on the right foot with a conference opening sweep of Rutgers-Camden on Saturday by the finals of 3-0 and 14-2. Kean got all the runs they would need in the sixth inning as Kyle Adorno reached on a single. Two batters later, Philip Mahlik singled to put runners on the corners and Michael Lapczynski brought everyone home with his second homerun of the season. Starter Collin Kiernan (6-0) tossed his second complete game shutout of the season. He allowed seven singles, four walks and struck out seven. The Kean (19-4) bats exploded for eight runs in the third inning to put game two out of reach. The Cougars then coasted through the rest of the game behind another solid pitching performance from Justin Diefenbach (3-1). He allowed one earned run and three hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in seven innings of work. Gianni Marano tossed the final two innings, striking out three.

No. 1 ranked Marietta College scored early and often as the Pioneers cruised to a doubleheader sweep of Capital University Saturday afternoon in Ohio Athletic Conference baseball action. The Etta Express crushed the Comets 24-1 in the first game and then completed the sweep with a 13-3 win in game two. Game one was stopped after seven innings due to the NCAA run rule. The Pioneers scored in every inning in the lopsided victory. Four Pioneers homered in the game, including Zach Boyd who hit for the cycle.

Opening the series Friday night with a 1-0 victory, No. 16 Loras College (21-3, 5-3 A-R-C) continued the three-game stretch in Storm Lake on Saturday afternoon against the Buena Vista University Beavers (12-8, 4-2 A-R-C) in a midday matinee. The Duhawks dropped game one but came back to split on the day and take the series two games to one with a 14-9 victory in game two of the day to win their 21st game of the year.

Roanoke went on the road this Saturday with a trip to Shenandoah to face the #14 Hornets in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader. Roanoke got a stellar complete game in the opener as the Maroons defeated Shenandoah, 12-2. In game two, the Maroons scored 10 consecutive runs to erase a 2-0 deficit and down the Hornets for the fourth straight time, 11-5. Roanoke College would seal the game one win in the top of the ninth. The Maroons used nine hits and a Shenandoah miscue to score eight runs and complete the 10-run win. Will Turner pitched a complete game, giving up seven hits, two runs, with six punchouts. The win was the third of the season for the right hander. In game two, the Maroons bullpen pitched seven innings, giving up 10 hits and just two earned runs. Chris Dudley picked up his third win of the season, recording four strikeouts in just two innings of work.

Make no mistake, the UT Dallas bats are back! The nationally-ranked Comets (20-6, 13-5 ASC) continued their offensive fireworks Saturday afternoon, completing a three-game American Southwest Conference sweep over Sul Ross State (10-14, 7-11 ASC) with a 17-6, "getaway day" victory over the host Lobos in eight innings. UTD pounded out 14 hits, including a pair of doubles and two home runs to claim the finale win. In three games with the Lobos at historic Kokernot Field this weekend, the Comets scored a combined 49 runs, punishing the SRSU pitching staff for 55 hits. The series sweep stopped a four-game losing streak for UTD.

In their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin games of the season, North Central College earned two wins over CCIW foe Millikin University with a 9-5 game one victory before beating the Big Blue 7-3 in the nightcap at Workman Family Baseball Field. Millikin added two runs in the eighth inning and another in the ninth, but it wouldn't be enough as North Central cruised to a 9-5 win in game one. Both Paul Beverly and Brad Novak tallied three RBI's while eight different Cardinals scored a run. Charlie Klemm picked up his third win of the season with six strikeouts and one earned run over his seven innings pitched.Jason Shanner entered game two to pitch the ninth. He closed the door and held Millikin hitless to secure the Cardinals' 7-3 victory. Danny Nuccio, Dom Listi, and Novak all scored two runs while John Petty drove in two runs. Ryan Behling went 8.0 innings on the mound, striking out four and holding Millikin to just three wins on the way to earning his second win of the season. Beverly became the most hit batter in program history with his hit by pitch in game one, passing former teammate John Carmody with 34 hit by pitches. Klemm moved into second all-time in career strikeouts with 207 while Shanner is fifth all-time with 179 strikeouts.

After dropping game one of the series against the Sagehens on Friday, the Purple and Gold started off their doubleheader with a 15-2 win in seven innings followed by a 3-1 loss in the afternoon. Zach Creighton started on the mound of the Kingsmen and pitched a no-hitter into the fifth for the Purple and Gold. Creighton pitched for 5.1 innings and tabbed six strike outs. Bryan Tierney faced two batters during his time on the mound and had one strike out. To finish off the game for one inning on the mound was Clay Rickerman. Rickerman faced four batters and had two strike outs. Game two was a battle in the batter's box for the Kingsmen. The Purple and Gold held the Sagehens well defensively but didn't score their first run until the bottom of the eighth. The Kingsmen were fighting back in the bottom of the ninth and had runners on first and third but they weren't able to convert. This gave the Sagehens the series.

The 22nd-ranked Trinity Tigers swept a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader to open a weekend series against the University of Dallas on Saturday. Trinity improved its record to 15-7 this season with the two wins, which includes a 7-1 record in conference play. The Tigers won 12-0 in the opening game, then took a 13-3 win in the second to enact the run-rule in both contests. A pair of three-run homers highlighted the offensive output in the opening game, while Joseph Chavana tossed a complete-game shutout to earn the win. Chavana improved to 4-1 this season with the victory, allowing just two hits and striking out 10 batters. Samuel Conte took the win in game two, striking out six batters and giving up just two hits over four shutout innings. Nathan Braulick and Michael Montrezza had three hits each in game two, while Ezra Gore and Cristian Holloway both hit the home runs in the opener. Gore and Jack Vonderhaar drove in three runs each, while Holloway picked up four RBI in the game.

by Kieran Finnegan completed the game 2 victory.

University of Lynchburg lost its first game against Ferrum 3-2, but bounced back with a 3-2 win Saturday afternoon. The fifth-ranked Hornets got 7.2 innings out of Zack Potts and gave the junior a 1-0 lead after the first inning. The Hornets tried to mount a comeback in the ninth. Carrson Atkins singled but was caught stealing. The Hornets could not capitalize on hits from Josh Gjormand and Webster and dropped their first conference game of the season, 3-2. Lynchburg wasted no time in the second game. Alvanos and Riley O'Donovan drove in runs during the first inning as the Hornets looked to avenge their first loss to Ferrum since Mar. 23, 2019. Nick Mattfield delivered five innings of one-run baseball with five punchouts. The Hornets are the fifth team to reach 20 wins this season across Division-III baseball.

No. 21 Denison University opened up North Coast Athletic Conference action by doubling up the Tigers 12-6 in game one before suffering a tough 4-2 loss after giving up two runs in the bottom of the ninth during game two at Wittenberg University on Saturday inside Carleton Davidson Stadium. Patrick Neenan led the Big Red offensively in game one, finishing 4-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and three runs scored. After the two teams combined for 17 hits in game one, game two finished with only 10 hits between them. After two outs by Wittenberg to start the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Big Red extended the inning, leading to a walk off two-run home run to left field by the Tigers.

Shortstop Ozzie Fleischer had three hits in the second game, when he tripled and scored the go-ahead run in the fourth inning, as Tufts split a NESCAC East Division doubleheader with Colby College on Saturday at Huskins Field. Tufts won the nightcap 8-4 after losing the opener 10-4, when Colby's Cabot Maher hit two home runs. Following Friday's 10-9 win on a walk-off grand slam by Jumbo Patrick Solomon, Tufts won their series against the Mules with their 8-4 win in game two today.

When Eastern Connecticut State University senior third baseman Luke Broadhurst hit a two-run home run in the first inning against Plymouth State University at Pappas Field, it would be the beginning of a big day for the Stafford native.Helping lead the Warriors (14-2, 4-0 LEC) to a doubleheader sweep over the Panthers (7-13, 0-2 LEC) by final scores of 11-5 and 14-1, Broadhurst finished the day with a 4-for-6 performance with three home runs, seven RBIs, five runs scored, three walks, and three stolen bases. Not far behind him was the hot hitting senior catcher Matt Malcom who turned in a 3-for-6 day with two home runs and five RBIs, three runs scored, three walks, and three stolen bases. The three hits for Malcom in the doubleheader gave the East Lyme native 99 career hits across his four seasons in an Eastern uniform. Junior right-hander Billy Oldham made his first start in a week in game one, going seven innings while giving up one run on three hits with five strikeouts and two walks to earn his fourth win of the season (4-1). Senior right-hander Bryan Albee made his second start of the season in game two, allowed one run on three hits across six innings of work while striking out 10 for the second consecutive start and walking two. Albee (5-0) earned his fifth win of the season and now holds a 0.73 ERA in 24 2/3 innings this season.
