The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team topped UW-Platteville 17-3 and 20-6 in a pair of seven-inning games at Prucha Field at Miller Stadium Friday afternoon.

Adam Cootway (DePere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) led the offensive onslaught hitting for the cycle with a bonus homerun in game one followed by a perfect 3-3 performance in game two. He is the 10th player in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference history to hit for the cycle and first since Whitewater's Daytona Bryden accomplished the feat twice in March of 2018.

As a team UWW blasted 36 hits including 12 for extra bases in the twinbill. The Warhawks scored in all but two innings on the day.

Cootway opened the scoring for UWW in game one with a RBI double down the right field line that sparked a four-run first for the Warhawks. They added seven in the second, two in the third and wrapped up the game with back-to-back two-spots in the fifth and sixth.

Brandl was the first to plate a run in game two, plating Matt Scolan (Downers Grove, Ill./South) on a sacrifice fly to center.

The Pioneers claimed the first lead of the day with a three-run second but the Warhawks responded with five in the bottom of the frame. UWW addedd a single run in the third before posting 10 in the fourth. Three more in the bottom of the sixth led to the Warhawks' final tally.

On the day, Cootway was 8-8 with 12 RBI, 6 in each game, and 7 runs scored to lead the Warhawk offense.

Max Huseboe (Ripon, Wis./Ripon) went the distance in game one striking out 11 while scatting six hits across seven innings. He is now 5-0 on the season.

Three hurlers saw action for UWW in game two. Logan Eisenbarth (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) got the start and the win striking out three while allowing three hits in four innings. Eli Frank (Bayport, Wis./Bay Port) and Sava Dupor (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) wrapped up the game for the Warhawks.

UWW returns to the diamond for the final game of the conference campaign Saturday. The doubleheader is slated to start at noon and the Warhawks will honor the 2023 senior class in between games.
