Adrian College opened MIAA conference play on Thursday afternoon with the opening game of the series against Alma College. The Bulldogs picked up the series opening win by a 10-5 score.

Junior Grayson Harris collected three hits and one RBI, including a game-winning RBI single in the seventh inning, and sophomore Matthew Arnold also had three hits and one RBI, while sophomore Jack Wilson scored the game-winning run, to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind upset past nationally-ranked No. 17 University of Lynchburg on Thursday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action on Yank Bernier Field at the Ty Cobb Ballpark – Wurdeman Stadium. Sophomore Jackson Barnett gained the pitching win in relief, the first of his collegiate career, and classmate Alex Fitz-Hugh earned the mound save for the host Tigers (8-12, 2-8) against the visiting Hornets (15-7, 5-3). Lynchburg is also the defending NCAA Division III National Champions.

Immaculata was back in action visiting Centenary University for an Atlantic East Conference doubleheader. Immaculata would sweep the doubleheader winning game one 10-4, before taking game two 8-2. It was a milestone day for Immaculata as two Mighty Macs became the first players to reach 200 career hits. Joey Sacco went 3-for-3 in game one of the doubleheader to become the first player in Immaculata baseball program history to reach 200 career hits. Sacco was joined in the 200 hit club by teammate Josh Crowding who went 2-for-4 in game two to reach the 200-career hit milestone.

This afternoon Beloit took on the Ripon Red Hawks in a rematch of the 2023 MWC Tournament Finals. Much like a year ago, the teams split the two games. The Buccaneers (10-6, 3-2 MWC) walked away victorious in the first game, 7-2 while the Red Hawks (4-8, 1-1 MWC) fought for a 10-4 win in game two. In the top of the seventh of the opener, Connor Vogel's grand slam wrapped up the game for the Bucs. The Red Hawks turned up their offense in game two and closed the door on Beloit in the bottom of the eighth when they took a 10-4 lead.

Misericordia swept at doubleheader at King's to complete the series sweep, Thursday. Joe Valenti struck out six and allowed just three hits in six shutout innings of relief in a 7-3 win in the opener and Brock Bollinger drove in four runs in a 20-3 win in the nightcap. Garrett McIlhenney had three hits in the opener. Down 3-2 after one inning, the Cougars took the lead for good with three runs in the third. Bollinger led off with a bunt single and Connor Maryniak hit his sixth homer of the season to give MU a 4-3 lead. Hoffman singled and later scored on Brooks Kanwisher's single through the left side. MU added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth on Gabe Bunn's squeeze bunt and McIlhenney's RBI-double. Bollinger had three hits in the nightcap. Maryniak struck out four and scattered four hits over four innings to earn the win. Bollinger doubled in a run in the top of the first and singled in the first run of a nine-run second inning and had a two-run single with his second hit of the inning. Maryniak aided his own cause with a pair of run-scoring hits in an eight-run fourth inning as the Cougars built a 20-0 lead.

Niko Urquidi pitched lights out, and No. 11 University of La Verne earned a 4-2 win in their series opener against Northwest Conference opponent Pacific University. The game featured a pair of defending conference champions from a year ago. The game originally scheduled to be played at Ben Hines Field was moved to Hart Park, home of the Chapman Panthers, as part of scheduling shuffling due to anticipated rain on Saturday. Urquidi struck out a career-high 13 batters, seven looking, to pick up his second win of the season while scattering four hits and walking one. The freshman has been on a hot streak in his last three outing.

Centenary (La.) blanked the Schreiner University Mountaineers by a score of 7-0 on Thursday afternoon in the opener of a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series at Bob Henry Field. The Diamond Gents (10-9, 5-1 SCAC) extended their winning streak to four games and have won five of six. Sophomore LHP Cody Myers continued his superb season by tossing his first-career complete game as he silenced the Schreiner lineup on just four hits with a walk and seven strikeouts to improve to 6-1 on the season. Myers, the current SCAC Pitcher of the Week, lowered his ERA to 0.82. Centenary banged out 13 hits as the Maroon and White have posted at least 10 hits in a game in 15 of 19 games this season. The Diamond Gents walked three times, struck out four times, left 10 on base, and committed one error. Schreiner walked once, struck out seven times, left three on base, and made three errors.

In the 2024 CCS opener, Piedmont dominated the Belhaven Blazers 10-5 Thursday. After trailing early, Piedmont was able to use a pair of big innings to take control. Piedmont starter Zeke Swartz surrendered just two hits until the fourth inning when the Blazers capitalized with two runs on three hits and an error to claim a 2-0 lead. Piedmont was able to take back one run in the next inning. The turning point for Piedmont was a Nathan Mix solo shot to left sparked a six run seventh inning for the Lions and put Piedmont in position to win. Justin Manus entered to pitch the eighth inning and worked a clean 1-2-3 frame and closed out the game giving up just two hits, one run, and struck out five including the final batter on a full count.

It's been nearly two weeks since Saint Mary's had played a game — but you never would have known that based on their performance against UW-Superior Thursday afternoon. The Cardinals banged out 11 hits, scored seven runs, and three SMU pitchers combined for a nine-inning, six-hit shutout, as Saint Mary's put an end to their three-game losing streak with a 7-0 nonconference win over the Yellowjackets at Max Molock Field. Saint Mary's did all of its damage in two innings — scoring four runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth in securing the nonconference victory. Brinton Anderson led the SMU 11-hit attack, going 3-for-3, with a pair of runs scores. And while the Cardinal offense was feasting on UW-Superior pitching, Eric Stomberg, Maddox Cejka, and Andrew Fischer were silencing the Yellowjacket bats in a big way. Stomberg went the first 5 2/3 innings, scattering six hits, while walking four and striking out three. Cejka came on to end the sixth, and threw two no-hit innings in the seventh and eighth, with Fischer working a perfect ninth.

Arcadia University survived a late push to escape with a 10-8 win at DeSales University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play on Thursday evening. DeSales opened the scoring with a run in the second. The Knights took their first lead in the top of the fourth when Justin Massielo and Emilio Pallante hit RBI singles for a 2-1 advantage. Arcadia increased its lead to 7-1 in the top fo the sixth in run-scoring hits from Griffin Murphy, Gabe Diaz, and Anthony Bruno. After the Bulldogs cut the lead to 7-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Knights pushed across three runs in the seventh. DeSales scored once in the bottom of the seventh, four times in the eighth, and once in the ninth but the Knights held on for the series-opening victory. Javier Sjostedt earned the victory, allowing one run on three hits in five innings with four walks and seven strikeouts. Cam Nebel notched his fourth save.

Tucker Gegenfurtner and Zak Keegan hit a pair of two-out, two-run singles in the bottom of the sixth inning, the latter giving the Lakeland University the lead and an eventual 8-7 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin Thursday afternoon. The Muskies won their home opener and the first game of their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader against the Falcons. Concordia came back for a 12-4 win in the second game to earn a split of the day. Lakeland (6-10 overall, 1-3 NACC) won in dramatic fashion in the first game, scoring four times in the bottom of the sixth to rally from a 7-4 deficit. Dylan Costello singled with one out, Chris Day walked and then Kellen Hodges reached on a dropped fly to center field, the latter a mistake that would soon haunt CUW. Concordia (8-9 overall, 3-1 NACC) would come back to control the second game, scoring a run in the top of the first and never trailing. The Falcons finished with 15 hits and scored in five different innings, and CUW pitchers also coerced Lakeland hitters into 19 strikeouts in the nine-inning game to cap the doubleheader.

Redlands (13-12, 5-8) defeated Chapman, 8-7, on Thursday afternoon at The Yard as they held off three late Panther rallies. The offense started out on fire as Redlands opened for a 2-0 lead. Though, much like in the sixth, Chapman scored three times on four hits in the eighth to draw within two. Reliever Patrick Perez came on and was able to strand the tying and lead runs. Redlands would not add any insurance runs in the eighth, but in the ninth Perez secured the win as Kaiya Saito threw out the tying runner trying to steal second before finishing with a strikeout and ground out. Tyler Reiter finished with three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts across six innings as he got his sixth win of the season. Perez threw the final 1.1 innings with no runs and a strikeout on only 16 pitches as he got his second save.

Hardin-Simmons' defense turned a school-record five double plays and the Cowboys had timely hitting in a 10-4 American Southwest Conference win over Howard Payne. It was a big win for the Cowboys as they snapped a six-game losing streak and won their first home game of the season. HSU had been on the road for 13 straight games. Senior Wyatt Tumlinson came up big on the mound for the Cowboys as he went eight and one-third innings and allowed just four runs. He struck out four batters to improve to 3-4 on the year. Guy George recorded the final two outs for the Cowboys. HPU starter Gary Blair deserved a better fate as he allowed just two earned runs over six innings of work. HPU allowed five unearned runs in the third inning. Blair fell to 0-5 on the year. He retired the final 10 batters he faced. Baylan Vaughan led the Cowboys with three hits. Jackson Earle had three hits for HPU.

Alfred State tallied a 12-6 win over Houghton before conference play starts tomorrow. The Pioneers notched five extra base hits in the win. Devin Mersmann had a good day at the plate, going 2-5 with a triple and a double and two RBIs. Jack Curabba also went 2-5 with a triple and a double for three RBIs. On the mound, Ryan Kinney got the start and the win as he pitched 7.0 innings only allowing four runs while scattering nine hits and notching a Pioneer career-best of 11 strikeouts. Caden Fortunato came in relief and tallied four strikeouts in 2.0 innings. After Houghton scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth, The Pioneers added three insurance runs in the ninth. Alfred State was able to hold Houghton scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to get the win.

No. 13 Pomona-Pitzer took game one of their three-game series against Caltech with a 15-0 win on Thursday afternoon at North Field. Sagehens were led by Greg Pierantoni who had a perfect day at the plate going 4-4 with three RBI and three runs scored in the win. JC Ng and Isaac Kim had two hits against the Beavers while William Kinney Nate Jakobs, Ben Cohen, and Jimmy Legg had one. Jake Hilton got the start and picked up his seventh win of the season to improve to 7-1 overall with six innings pitched, only two hits given up and seven strikeouts.

Washington & Jefferson slugged five home runs, totaled 20 runs on 32 hits en route to a doubleheader sweep of Geneva Thursday afternoon. The Presidents took game one by a 9-1 score before securing the sweep with a 11-5 victory in game two. The sweep extends the Presidents' winning streak to six games. W&J is 10-7 overall and 4-0 in PAC play. Geneva drops to 10-8 overall and 2-4 in the conference. The Presidents bats slugged three home runs to back a strong pitching performance by Anthony Pass in the game one win. Pass, the reigning PAC Pitcher of the Week, tossed eight shutout innings. Pass scattered seven hits, issued no walks, and struck out two during a 94-pitch outing. The win improves Pass to 3-1 on the mound this season. The potent Presidents' offense scored runs early and often in game two. W&J scored in each of the first four innings to build a 9-0 lead.

UW-Whitewater featured some heavy hitting in a
non-conference match-up against Loras in Dubuque,
taking a quick 15-3 lead in only two innings. The
Warhawks took down the Duhawks 20-10.

The Keystone Giants continued a long week of baseball as they hit the road on Thursday afternoon for a conference matchup against the Patriots of Valley Forge. After jumping out to a quick 4-1 lead in the first inning, Keystone held on to the lead the whole game and finished with a 13-4 victory. Jacob Yager posted five RBI on three hits in five at bats. All three hits were for extra bases as Yager ended the day with two triples, one double, and an RBI groundout to the shortstop. Darren Hagan also added two RBI with three hits in three at bats. On the mound, Sean Brennan picked up his fourth win of the season moving him to a 4-0 record. Brennan pitched six complete innings, striking out nine batters while allowing four hits and two earned runs. Keystone and Valley Forge will both head back to La Plume as they are slated to square off again on Friday.

Oberlin first-year Calvin Burkholder threw a complete-game masterpiece as the Yeomen defeated the Scots of Maryville College, 2-0, to close out their spring break trip in a tidy 2:12. Burkholder was simply sensational throughout the nine-inning affair, throwing 73 strikes on 123 pitches while scattering eight hits - all of which were singles. The rookie right-hander from Aurora, Colorado, struck out two and walked two. He faced 34 batters and recorded 13 flyball outs and nine ground ball outs, including two double plays. Scots' starter Nic Mirabella matched Burkholder through the front four innings, keeping the Yeomen off the board but would depart in the fifth after recording just one out. Singles from Sean Livingstone and Joe Strabley put runners on the corners and chased Mirabella from the game. Reliever Kyle Timko was promptly greeted by Harry Kaplan, who poked an RBI single to left field, but that would be all the Yeomen would get as they left the bases loaded.

A three-run shot from Hayden Norris was the difference for LeTourneau as they took down No. 24 ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-2 on Thursday night. The LeTourneau (10-13, 4-6 ASC) offense was rolling early as they notched a couple of hits in the first inning. One from the bat of Hayden Norris and the other from Dane Jones, although no runs came home. In the second the YellowJackets picked up right where they left off as Kevin Soto notched his first hit of the season. Zach Zarko then reached after battling a 0-2 count for a base hit. This brought up Norris who sent one over the fence in left field to take a 3-0 lead. The Cru tacked one more on in the sixth inning by the likes of a Carson Riley RBI groundout leaving runners on second and third. Dalton Pickett worked his way out of that one as he retired Tyler Betts swinging at strike three and forced a groundout from Cameron Talib leaving the score at 3-2 LeTourneau ahead. TJ Spitdowski came out from the bullpen in the middle of the eighth inning with two runners on (first and second) and forced a groundball double play. Spitdowski (3) got the save as he forced two groundouts and got a strikeout for the final out.

Allegheny held on for a 17-14 non-conference victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in a wild contest on Thursday afternoon at Robert M. Garbark Field. Coming off a series sweep of Franciscan University, in which the Gators (10-5) scored a combined 27 runs, the bats were ready to once again knock the cover off the ball. Allegheny scored once in the first and twice in the second, but it exploded in the third inning as the Gators batted around the order in the third and posted an eye-popping 11 runs in the frame. However, the comfortable lead that once appeared excessive proved to be necessary. Pitt-Bradford (7-13), which loaded the bases but could not score in the first and second innings, came to life in the fourth. Thanks to a seven-spot in the top of the fourth and a five-run top of the eighth, the Panthers came all the way back and cut the deficit to 15-14. After a two-run double from Pitt-Bradford's Evan Fragela made it a one-run game with no outs in the eighth, William DeCicco III was called from the bullpen and was able to douse the flames. He stranded the bases loaded in the eighth, and after the Gators added two insurance runs in the home half, he returned to throw a 1-2-3 ninth and seal the victory.

At the start of the 2024 season, Wells coach Ryan Stevens described the style of play that he wanted to see this year in one word; quick. Never was that more evident than in the two powerful victories that the Express picked up on Thursday night against the Alfred University Saxons by scores of 11-6 and 20-0. The Express started off on an absolute tear in the two matchups, slugging their way to 2, 9-run innings to begin each of the sets. They kept up their streak of nonstop scoring, recording their 9th and 10th games with over 8 runs. Another streak that continued was the now 8-game win streak that dates back to the conclusion of spring break. With these 8 important wins, the Express matched their win total from last year while also making some history along the way. Head Coach Ryan Stevens picked up his 47th and 48th wins on Thursday evening, cementing him in Express baseball history by achieving the all-time record for wins as an Express head coach. Not only did he achieve the milestone, but he also did it through his team's fast and furious play, something the Express are building a reputation for. The fast-paced wins included 9 total stolen bases, including two each by the AMCC standout twins Max Odum and Zack Odum.

Chatham traveled to Ohio to take on the Hiram Terriers. They won the offensive battle by the score of 19-14. Senior Jake Bredl hit a grand slam in the top of the second, tying the single-season home run record at Chatham. Bredl preceded to hit another home run, this time a three run shot making him the sole leader for home runs in a season as a Chatham Cougar. The blast extended the Cougar lead to 10-5. The Terriers continued to claw back and not give up as they pushed three runs across themselves in the bottom half of the inning. Chatham pushed three runs across in the seventh, and Hiram was able to avoid the mercy rule with a sixth-run seventh making the score 19-14. Neither team scored in the final two frames to make the final 19-14. Bredl entered the record books after he went 3-4 with two HR's (single season record five homeruns) and a single-game school record nine RBI's in the contest.

Bethany Lutheran hosted Martin Luther on Thursday afternoon and completed the series sweep of the Knights with a 15-3 win. With the result the Vikings move to 5-7 overall and 3-0 in the UMAC while the Knights fall to 3-13 overall and 0-3 in the conference. After a few scoreless frames, the Vikings would put together a massive inning in the fifth, scoring six runs on three hits, while also using three Knights errors to make the score 15-1. Six different Vikings would record RBI at-bats in the inning. From there out an MLC two-run home run in the fifth was the only scoring the rest of the contest as John Lutzi tossed a complete game on the mound for the Vikings. Lutzi threw all seven innings, striking out six and allowing two earned runs.

Scoring in six innings, No. 7 East Texas Baptist University shut down a powerful McMurry University offense, 10-2. McMurry was averaging seven runs and 11 hits a game and ETBU's pitching staff didn't allow any earned runs and only two hits with 15 strikeouts. Jagger Neely went six innings allowing no hits as two runs came in on a two-out throwing error to first base recording nine strikeouts. He retired the side in the first, second, and fifth innings. Ben Burroughs followed with two innings of work giving up one hit with for strikeouts. Brayden Hodges finished the ninth inning facing four batters recording two strikeouts and gave up one hit. Connor Massimini had a massive night at the plate going 4-of-5 with two RBI, two runs scored, a double, and a home run. Jacob Evangelista, Brett Wagner, and Michael Gallegos both had two hits. Also adding two RBI was Evangelista and Gallegos with one RBI from Dylan Burnaman, Nicolas Chavez, Wagner, and Nick Massarini.
