No. 2 Denison University hosted Marietta College and got a two-run home run from Noah Leib in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 5-2 win over the Pioneers on Thursday night. It was the first season sweep for Denison (30-4 overall) over Marietta (17-16) since 2018, and it is the quickest the Big Red have reached the 30-win mark in a season in program history. Denison made it 5-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning after a two-out double to right field by Owen Wilson was followed by an RBI-single also to right field by Cade Nowik. Senior right-hander Aidan Bennett closed the book with 6.2 innings pitched, including four no-hit innings, where he tied a career-high eight strikeouts and allowed only two hits and three walks. No. 7 Salve Regina University closed out its three-game non-league mid-week homestand with a 15-5 win in eight innings over visiting Anna Maria College on a sunny but cold Thursday afternoon at Reynolds Field. The #7 Seahawks (27-5, 10-2 NEWMAC) win their third straight overall and sixth straight at Reynolds Field, sporting a 14-1 mark at home in 2024 (last year, Salve Regina finished 19-0 at home). The AMCATS (16-19, 9-7 GNAC) falter after sweeping Fitchburg State earlier this week. Today was the first meeting between the two schools on the Newport diamond since 2010. Salve Regina has won the last six meetings and own a 51-6 overall mark in the series. Wil McCarthy went 4-for-5 at the plate with a double, three RBI, and three runs scored. A pair of five-run innings proved enough as the 11th-ranked Christopher Newport baseball team picked up a 10-9 win against Washington and Lee University (15-16) on Thursday afternoon. The Captains improved to 22-8 overall after senior closer Kyle Lewis slammed the door against the Generals with five strikeouts in the final two frames to pick up his fifth save of the year. Taking on Washington and Lee in the penultimate home regular season game of the season, the Captains trailed, 5-0, after two innings before knotting the game at 5-all in the bottom of the fourth. AU took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the fourth and in the sixth, Sean Rivera collected an RBI on a ground out that made it 9-5. Slevin recorded his ninth save of the season. He surpassed the previous record of eight helf by Glen McLaughlin (2014) and Will Jennings (2013).

New Jersey City University has now won seven games in New Jersey Athletic Conference play, which is the most for the program since 1995. The Gothic Knights, behind continued solid pitching from senior righthander Ali Pompey — he tossed his second-straight complete game in the victory — defeated William Paterson University on the road on Thursday, April 25, by a final of 7-3. In need of insurance runs in the ninth, the Gothic Knights did more than that, putting up three runs to give Pompey some wiggle room. Nick Vaughn led off with a one-out error at third before Justin Moreno put two on with a single. Jeremy Ricourt struck again, this time with two outs, to make it 5-3 with a RBI single. Then, Moreno was able to cross the plate via a failed pickoff attempt by the Pioneers to make it 6-3. Finally, Garrett Allo made it 7-3 with a one-run single to right, scoring Ricourt. Pompey closed out the ninth for the victory.
