Keystone, Johns Hopkins offense clicking on third day

Third seeded Johns Hopkins Blue Jays advanced on day three of the NCAA Division III York Regional by eliminating No. 8 Penn State-Berks by a score of 10-1. The Blue Jays' collected 17 hits today and now have 52 total hits through three games player at the regional. The Blue Jays defeated Misericordia 7-5 in the late game to extend their season into Saturday.

Keystone and Amherst played for the first time in their program's history and the Giants greeted the Lord Jeff's with an effective offense that played seven runs before Amherst could break up the shutout. The Giants took the game 7-2. Keystone and Oberlin's elimination game was rained out and will be restarted with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Giants holding a 4-1 lead. Behind the strength of Macabe Camps complete-game performance, Oberlin defeated Old Westbury, 9-3, at the Auburn Regional. Camps was sensational as he sprinkled nine hits and one walk through 133 pitches of work.

A third straight trip to the D-III World Series will not be in the cards for Southern Maine. The top seeded in the Harwich Regional was defeated by Wesleyan 4-1. Peter Rantz was efficient in getting the win and Sam Elias mopped up the final two innings for the Cardinals. Kean was another top seed that exited on the third day of regional play as Misericordia eliminated the Cougars 6-2 in the York Regional.

Two weeks ago, Rhodes had Birmingham-Southern's number with a 2-0 sweep in the SAA final series but the tables were turned as the Panthers got a needed win over Rhodes. The Panthers move forward with a 3-2 win over the Lynx. Rhodes becomes the fourth top seed to be eliminated from the field today. Birmingham-Southern later in the day defeated top seeded Pacific Lutheran 7-1 for one of two spots in the championship game.

Cortland scored four runs in the top of the seventh to overcome a 5-2 deficit and the Red Dragons defeated RPI, 7-5, in the winner's bracket final of the Auburn Regional. Cortland, ranked first nationally, is the lone top seeded team to survive the first three days without a loss. Cortland trailed after six innings in all three of its regional wins so far.

La Roche is going where no Redhawk team has gone before! With a 4-1 victory over host Washington & Jefferson, La Roche moves on to Championship Saturday of the Washington Regional. The Red Hawks win also marked the 32nd win of the season for the Redhawks, setting a single season record.

 Another two-day marathon, but this time a victory for the Linfield Wildcats, who rallied from an early hole to eliminate host and the regional's top seed Texas-Tyler in a 9-6 ballgame that concluded late Friday morning at Irwin Field. With the win, Linfield stayed alive in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tyler Regional, which has been plagued by severe weather and rain. Each of Linfield's two games have started and ended on different days. Linfield closed out Friday's schedule with a 6-2 win over Millsaps.

In the Waterloo Regional, Carthage and Greenville were barely underway on Thursday when rain pushed all the games into Friday. Back on the field on Friday Greenville took a quick 2-0 lead but Carthage scored the next seven runs to eliminated the Panthers 7-2. Washington U. and UW-La Crosse also finished their Thursday start on Friday. The Eagles scored a pair of runs top of the 13th inning as they posted an 8-6 win over Washington.

Coe, Webster and Ramapo all advanced in the winner's bracket in their respective regionals. The Gorlocks with a 4-3 win over Anderson and Ramapo 6-3 over previously unbeaten Salem State. Coe's trip to the championship game went through host UW-La Crosse with a 11-5 victory.

Alan Wang earned his seventh win as he shutout Curry 3-0 to advance in the Harwich Regional. This is the second straight shutout for MIT since losing a first round game to Salem State.

A big rally in the fourth inning did not hold up on Friday for the Heidelberg as they fell 9-6 to second-ranked Frostburg State. The Student Princes took a 6-1 lead after scoring all six of their runs in the bottom of the fourth, but the Bobcats were able to out-slug the Berg as the game wore on.
