GRAND CHUTE, Wis. -- It was an epic game to end Day 2 of the D-III World Series. UW-La Crosse scored on an Emory error to take the Pool B winners bracket 3-2 in 12 innings.

Jameson Sadowske threw six innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win and Shane Adler came around from second on an infield grounder and misguided throw to secure the win, which came after 4 hours, 7 minutes of play.

Salisbury and Webster took the first trips home from Appleton. In the first elimination game, Ramapo jumped out to an early 6-0 lead,  including a three-run homer by Brandon Berger, and rolled to a 14-2 win. Webster was the first team eliminated. Trinity got a stellar start from pitcher Matt Tindall and defeated Salisbury 9-1.

In the first winners' bracket game, Cortland State defeated Frostburg State 4-1, putting the Red Dragons at 2-0 for the first time in 13 trips to the Division III World Series.

Clayton Freimuth took the mound this afternoon for Frostburg State, and as a guy who started his career and struggled to stay healthy at Trinity (Texas), Freimuth found a new home and All-American form. Read more in a feature by Austin Walther.
