W&J takes 1-0 lead in best-of-three

W&J's bats came to play and Matt Heslin came to pitch for the Presidents, going the distance as W&J defeated Cal Lutheran 12-2 in Game 1 of the D3CS. Heslin allowed nine hits and two runs in nine innings, while Marshall Pautsch, coming back on two days' rest, got knocked around, allowing seven runs (four earned) before being chased in the fifth inning.

We will have full coverage of the entire D3CS from the first pitch to the final out.

The championship will handed out on Tuesday with Game 2, and if necessary, Game 3.
