Scouting report
- Wooster coach Tim Pettorini has the fifth-most wins of any coach in D-III history when he won his 1,197th game earlier this season. If experience at the top matters, Wooster has it in spades.
- Wooster has thrived at the plate. The Scots are top 10 in every important offensive team category. To add to that, the Scots have a .451 on-base percentage leading off an inning, and they are deadly with a runner on third and less than two out, driving in runs 75 percent of the time.
- The pitching staff is effective as well. As a group, they pitch to contact and the strikeout is not a big part of their game. With a second-ranked defense behind the pitcher, letting the defense get the out allows the starters to go deeper into the game. The front-line pitchers are generally adequate for this stage of the season, but beyond three starters, someone is going to have to step up beyond their regular-season performance.
Features
- Dippman Wooster's double-duty man
- Cleveland-area players help Wooster to World Series
- Wooster's head coach hits 1,200-win milestone
