Scouting report

  • Birmingham-Southern is making its second apperance in the DIII World Series. They last appeared in 2019 and finished second with a 3-2 record. It's also the last appearance for B-SC, as the school announced earlier this year that it was closing on May 31 of this year.
  • Jan Weisberg is BSC’s second winningest coach in program history. He has led the Panthers to nine 30-plus win seasons during his tenure, five Southern Athletic Association regular season titles, and four conference tournament championships.
  • The Southern Athletic Association picked Charlie Banks as the SAA Newcomer of the Year. Eight Panthers were named to All-SAA team following the 2024 season.
  • The Panthers are coming in with the fewest runs per game and lowest OBP among the eight teams in Eastlake. Their slugging percentage is sixth best. However, the team has gone 19-4 since the school announced it was closing. Before that announcement, while the team and school were in limbo, B-SC averaged just 6.3 runs per game, but has scored 9.4 per game since.
