THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - A successful third inning for the Cal Lutheran helped cut an initial 5-0 Redlands lead to a more manageable three run margin with six full innings yet to play. But the visiting Bulldogs would earn those three runs back, and add another two runs to their lead as the game progressed to defeat the Kingsmen 10-2 Saturday afternoon.

Box Score: UR 10, CLU 2 - F

Leading off that inning with a double to center field, Trevor Koons advanced to third base on a textbook sacrifice bunt laid down by John Leal to place himself only 90 feet away from scoring the first CLU run of the afternoon.

Touching home plate on a wild pitch thrown by Redlands starter Kyle Hart, Koons and his Kingsmen teammates watched Iggy Wagner turn his five pitch walk into CLU's final run of the game when K.C. Judge hit a fly ball deep enough to left field to enable Wagner to score safely.

Driving in the only Cal Lutheran run of the game, Judge also finished with two of the three Kingsmen hits to his credit.

Responsible for 12 runs and 15 hits in Friday's game at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, the Kingsmen were held to only three hits in a pivotal SCIAC match-up against the Bulldogs.

Leading 4-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning before rain forced umpires to postpone CLU's game originally contested on February 18th, the Kingsmen now have their sights set on winning both of their games in an abridged doubleheader against the Occidental Tigers.

Defeating the Tigers 6-1 and 10-1 in the two games played at George "Sparky" Anderson Field at Ullman Stadium earlier this season, games played at Occidental Sunday afternoon will complete a busy three day weekend that forced the Kingsmen compete in four games against three different SCIAC opponents.

First pitch on Sunday will take place at 1:00 p.m.
