GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bill Wooding went 2-4 with a homer and three RBI in Greensboro College's 6-3 baseball win over host Guilford College Wednesday. The Pride overcame three one-run deficits to spoil the Quakers' season opener.

Wooding's RBI groundout scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning. Seth Caison and Michael Cobb also had RBIs in the Pride's (2-2) three-run frame. The outburst made a winner out of starter Jacob Cadle (1-0), who yielded four hits and two earned runs in six innings. Brian Robbett threw three innings of one-hit ball to earn his first save of the year.

Guilford (0-1) had five hits in the game, but just one after the fifth inning. Jordan Slate homered and scored twice for Guilford. Starter Will James (0-1) threw six effective innings before two of Greensboro's first three batters singled to start the decisive seventh.

The Quakers host NCAA Division II member Bluefield State College Saturday (2/11) at 1:00 p.m. on McBane Field.
