The Pride won a seesaw battle with their cross-town rivals for their second win of the season, 6-3.  Greensboro has now won two straight after opening their season with a doubleheader loss at Berry on Saturday.

Guilford took the first lead of the game, jumping in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first, before Greensboro countered in the second to tie the game.  The Quakers re-took the lead in the third, but again The Pride would answer, tying the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth.  Following another run in the bottom of the fifth, the Quakers lost their offensive potency and Greensboro's three-run seventh proved decisive.  The Pride added an insurance run in the top of the ninth.

Seth Caison had an excellent game, scoring two runs for The Pride, recording the game winning RBI and stealing a base.  Designated hitter Bill Wooding also put in a strong performace, tallying half of Greensboro's RBI on two hits and home run.

Jacob Cadle claimed his first win of the young season, pitching six full innings, allowing just four hits and striking out two.  Brian Robbett picked up the save, finishing the last three innings and allowing just one hit.

"I am happy with the discipline of our hitters," said head coach Matt Aker.  "Unlike in past years, we did not lose focus when the ball was not dropping."

Greensboro will be back in action as they take on Lynchburg in their first home contest.  The game has been re-scheduled and re-located.  It will be played at Leonard Park at 2:00 p.m.

"I am excited about our home opener," added Aker.  "Lynchburg is a good team and will provide a big test for our guys."
