Farmingdale State Outslugs Baruch in Non-Conference Contest

The Baruch College Bearcats lost an 11-4 road contest to Farmingdale State on Thursday afternoon in Farmingdale, New York.

Nicholas Pomo-Romanhad four of the team's nine hits this afternoon with four singles and two runs scored.

The Bearcats scored first with a pair of runs during their first at-bat that began with singles by Pomo-Roman and
Matthew Ballone.

Philip Lopretefollowed with an RBI double and Zachary T. Uherhit a sacrifice fly RBI to plate Ballone for the early 2-0 lead.

The Rams scored five runs in the second inning and added two more in the third for a 7-2 lead. They later added three runs to comfortably lead 10-2 after six innings. Lead-off hitter Edward Bergmann was the hot bat for the host school batting 4-for-5 with three runs scored.

The visiting Bearcats did manage to score two runs in the seventh inning. Ballone hit an RBI triple to score Pomo-Roman and Loprete added another RBI with a ground out that scored Ballone to account for the four runs this afternoon on Long Island.

The Bearcats will continue their tough schedule on Saturday, April 14 with a doubleheader against #16-ranked St. John Fisher College from Rochester, New York. First pitch at MCU Park in scheduled for 12:00 pm.
