Farmingdale, N.Y. - Senior Tom Rydzewski (Franklin Square, N.Y.) led off the bottom of the first inning with a single to right center to break the Farmingdale State school record for career hits. Rydzewski now has 162 hits over his four years at FSC, passing Kevin Curtis' (2008-2011) previous mark of 161.

Sophomore center fielder Matteo Gaudio (Glen Cove, N.Y.) led off the bottom of the third with an infield single and advanced to third on a Michael Marino (Franklin Square, N.Y.) single to right. In the Rams (16-14) next at-bat, junior first baseman Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.) hit a sac fly to increase the lead to 2-0.

Farmingdale State added a run in the fourth as Rydzewski again scored on a wild pitch and an unearned run in the seventh en route to the 4-0 non-conference win.

Marino was 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored, while Rydzewski had one hit and scored two runs.

Junior pitcher Kevin Martinez (Glen Cove, N.Y.) recorded a no decision after throwing four hitless innings with three strikeouts. Freshman Brandon Ernest (Owings, MD) earned the win and improved to 3-1 on the season after two scoreless innings of relief.

Farmingdale State will host Stevens in a non-conference game tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
