Curtis Morgan (Green Lake/Green Lake) pitched a complete game shutout in a 3-0 win in game one of a doubleheader with UW-Stout Saturday at James B. Miller Stadium, and the 11th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team went on to complete the doubleheader and series sweep. The Warhawks topped the Blue Devils 7-1 in game two after taking two from the visitors on Friday. The Warhawks conclude regular season play with a record of 27-12 overall and 13-7 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Stout falls to 14-24 and 4-16 in the league.

In game one, Cal Aldridge (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) gave the Warhawks a 1-0 lead reaching on a single in the bottom of the fifth and scoring after a Kyle Jones (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) double to right and a sacrifice bunt by Jordan Kuczynski (Germantown/Germantown).

The Warhawks stretched their advantage to 3-0 in the seventh scoring with the help of a Stout error. Matt Wary (Elk Grove, Ill./Elk Grove) reached on a fielding error to lead off the inning and moved up to second after a sacrifice bunt by Daytona Bryden (Rockton, IL/Hononegah). He advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scored on an Aldridge single to left. Aldridge later came around to score on another sacrifice bunt by Kuczynski.

Morgan took care of the rest. He allowed just four hits in the game and struck out six to earn his fifth win of the season. The game lasted just one hour and 36 minutes.

Errors again plagued Stout in game two as the Warhawks capitalized on a pair of them in the bottom of the second for a 2-0 lead.

Stout cut the lead in half in the fourth but the Warhawks got that run back in the fifth. Steve Chamberlain(Rockford, IL/Guilford) singled in the run to give the Warhawks a 3-1 lead.

The Blue Devils intentionally walked Austin Jones (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) to load the bases with one out in the seventh. A wild pitch allowed Kuczynski to score from third and Dane Burman (Milton, Wis./Milton) followed with a sacrifice fly to left field to score Blake Fleischman (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) and give the Warhawks a 5-1 lead. Matt Wary (Elk Grove, Ill./Elk Grove) followed with a single to score one more, and scored himself when Daytona Bryden (Rockton, IL/Hononegah) tripled to right center. UW-W finished the seventh with a 7-1 lead.

Connor Hurst (Waunakee/Waunakee) was on the bump for the first six innings and held the Blue Devils to just five hits and one run while striking out six. Lake Bachar (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) came on in relief and pitched no-hit baseball for the final three innings. Hurst earned the win, his third of the year, and Bachar the save, his first.

Wary went 4-for-7 on Saturday with three runs scored. Teammates Bryden and Kuczynski each notched two RBIs.
