The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its seventh season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the second Team of the Week of the 2018 season.

C John Tucker, Jr., Trinity (Tex.)
Tucker had an outstanding weekend at the plate, going .500 (8-for-12) over the Tiger's three games. He had two doubles among his six base hits. He also picked up four RBI and scored three runs.
1B Sam Swenson, So., George Fox
Swenson was stellar this week. He went 9-for-16 at the plate with three doubles and eight RBIs. He averaged .563 at the plate, .632 in on-base percentage and .750 in slugging.
2B Garrett Heaton, So., Cortland
Heaton batted .500 (4-for-8) with two walks, two runs and an RBI in No. 1 Cortland's weekend sweep at No. 18 Salisbury. He also handled 13 fielding chances (10 assists, three putouts) without an error. Heaton went 3-for-5 with a run scored in a 5-4 win Saturday, and he was 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and run scored off the bench in a 9-6, 14-inning victory Sunday
SS Jack Hennessy, Sr., Catholic
Hennessy spear-headed Catholic to a season-opening sweep of Cabrini and hit the walk-off single in the second game of the doubleheader. The senior shortstop went 4-for-6 (.667) in the two-game set including a 3-for-3 game with two RBI in the second contest. In game one he added a hit and a walk as the Cardinals also won in walk-off fashion.
3B Nathan Patton, So., Dallas
Patton batted .600 (3-for-5) for the Crusaders. He hit two doubles, drove in two and scored four times. He handled fielding chores at the hot corner with a 1.000 fielding average.
OF Colin BeVard, So., Cortland
BeVard batted .667 (6-for-9) with a homer, double, four RBI, four walks, two steals and five runs for #1 Cortland. He reached base safely in his final seven plate appearances.
OF Richard Brereton, So., Emory
Brereton collected three multi-hit games as the Eagles went 2-1 this past week. He hit for a blistering .636 average (7-for-11) to go along with one double, one triple, one home run and a team-best seven RBI.
OF Riley Schaefer, Sr., Texas Lutheran
Schaefer posted a .625 batting average (10-for16) for the four games TLU faced this week. He had eight RBIs with eight total runs scored, helping the Bulldogs improve to a 9-0 record overall. He slugged 1.000 with a double, triple and home run.
DH Rick Spiers, Sr., Randolph-Macon
Spiers batted .400 (2-for-5) and tied for team lead with 3 RBI and a .500 on-base percentage in doubleheader sweep of RPI. He had a RBI single in third inning of opener to start the scoring. In nightcap, Spiers' RBI double gave RMC a 4-0 lead in the third and with a sac fly, a 5-3 lead in the eighth.
SP Carter Buuck, Sr., Linfield
Buuck threw a one-hit complete game shutout to earn his second win of the season. His wild but effective approach hearned him strikeouts and four walks. The win earned Linfield the series victory of last season's NWC runner up, Willamette.
SP Thomas Packert, So., Chris. Newport
Packert started two games this week. He pitched one shutout inning of a "staff game" against N.C. Wesleyan, striking out a pair. Then, carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning against Keystone, a perennial Top 25 program, doing the bulk of the work in a one-hit shutout against the Giants He struck out eight batters in that performance to give him 10 in 8.0 innings of work.
SP Colin Selby, Jr., Randolph-Macon
Selby tossed five hitless innings in first start of the season, starting with three groundball outs in the first, striking out the next nine batters. Selby fanned the second hitter of the fifth for his 10th strikeout. He allowed only base-runner with a two-out walk in the fifth before a groundout to third ended the inning and Selby's stint on the mound.
RP Brian Owens, So., Christopher Newport
Owens appeared in two games out of the bullpen. Against Keystone, he struck out all six batters faced in two perfect innings; helped secure a one-hit shutout with teammate Thomas Packert. In his second stint on the mound, this time against NC Wesleyan, he striking out a pair in one shutout inning.
