D3baseball.com Team of the Week

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its tenth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the eleventh Team of the Week of the 2021 season.

Games of May 3-9, 2021

Adam Zebrowski, Jr., St. John Fisher

Zebrowski took over the Division III home run lead last week as the Cardinals went 3-0 overall including two wins in Empire 8 play. The catcher was 11-for-14 (.786) overall with two doubles, four home runs, 14 RBI and 10 runs scored. He finished the week with an .824 on-base percentage and slugged 1.786. Zebrowski had at least three hits in every game last week and capped off the week with a 5-for-5 performance against Keuka on Saturday.

1B  Dane Camphausen, So., Wooster

Camphausen collected six hits in nine at-bats (.667) last week for the Fighting Scots. The first baseman reached base safely in all three contests against Wittenberg and capped the week with a 3-for-4 showing, hitting a home run, scoring four runs, and collecting three RBI, during an 11-6 win on Friday.

2B  Matt O'Leary, So., Beloit

O'Leary slashed .700/.824/1.200 this week. Three of his seven hits went for extra bases, a double and two triples. O'Leary score eight times and drove in five. He walked five times with three stolen bases. He was perfect in the field with 18 chances.

SS  Caleb Durbin, Jr., Washington (Mo.)

Curbin hit for the cycle in first four at bats in game one on Saturday and went on to bat .714 (5-for-7) and slug 1.571. He score six and drove in five in two games. Along with two walks, Durbin stole two bases on two attempts.

SS  Colin Kelly, Sr., Union

Kelly was 10-for-16 with five homers, 12 RBIs, nine runs scored, a 1.688 slugging percentage and a .647 on-base percentage this week. He had at least two hits, one homer, two RBIs and two runs scored in all four games, including going 6-for-7 with three homers, a triple and seven RBIs in Sunday's doubleheader sweep. As a result of his explosive weekend, Kelly now has 10 homers in just 18 games this season.

3B  Jack Olver, Fr., UW-La Crosse

Olver hit .643 (9-for-14) with four doubles in three starts last week, recording multiple-hit contests in all three. He recorded a .688 on-base and .929 slugging percentage.

OF  Dougie DelaCruz, Jr., Mitchell

DelaCruz was named MVP of the 2021 NECC Championship after batting a team-high .643 with four doubles, eight RBI and eight runs scored last week while leading the Mariners to the title. He opened the tournament with five hits--including the 100th of his career--and five RBI in a win over Becker. His final RBI of the tournament was his 57th of the season and broke the school's single season record.

OF  Sebastian Pike, Fr., Union

Pike was part of a big weekend for Union in a four-game sweep of Bard, going 6-for-9 with a homer, four extra-base hits, five RBIs and five runs scored. In Sunday's doubleheader sweep, the first-year was a perfect 5-for-5 with his first career homer, four RBIs and five runs scored.

OF  Bret Williams, Sr., Penn State Harrisburg

Bret Williams was nearly perfect at the plate for Penn State Harrisburg in a pair of playoff games over the weekend. The senior went 6-for-7 with two home runs and three walks in two games against Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon. During the contests, the outfielder slashed .857/.900/1.857 with a pair of homers, an RBI double, three walks, four RBI, four runs scored, and 13 total bases.

DH  Zach Piroh, Sr., Salem St.

Piroh batted .500 (5-for-10) in four games. With a double and two home runs, he scored twice and drove in four with a 1.200 slugging percentage.

SP  Owen Boerema, So., Northwestern (Minn.)

Boerema pitched an 11-inning complete game masterpiece on the mound to carry Northwestern to a 3-1 win over Crown to outright clinch the UMAC Regular Season Championship, the first conference championship for UNW since 1996. The sophomore allowed zero earned runs and just five scattered hits through his 11 innings of work, striking out 15 batters without walking anyone in a performance that ended a 25-year championship drought for Northwestern.

SP  Clayton Dwyer, Sr., Salisbury

Dwyer was nearly perfect for the third-ranked Sea Gulls on Thursday against St. Mary's (Md.). Dwyer's perfect game bid lasted 6.1 innings; he ultimately went eight frames and gave up one hit while striking out a season high-tying 10 batters, picking up his eighth win of the year. Dwyer currently leads the C2C in all three Triple Crown categories (eight wins, 1.47 ERA, 73 strikeouts).

SP  Graham Laubscher, Sr., St. Thomas (Minn.)

With the MIAC championship on the line, Laubscher threw a three-hitter over eight shutout innings on Sunday as St. Thomas broke open a close game late for a 7-1 victory over Concordia-Moorhead that allowed the Toms to edge Gustavus by percentage points to claim the conference regular-season title. The game was 1-0 into the seventh inning and 2-0 into the eighth. Laubscher went 2-0 in two starts on the week with no runs allowed over 14 innings plus 20 strikeouts and just four walks and six hits allowed.

RP  Hunter Clever, So., Bridgewater (Va.)

Clever earned the win in game one of Saturday's doubleheader and picked up the save in game two as Bridgewater, the No.6 seed upset No. 3 seed Roanoke in a best-of-3 series in the quarterfinal round of the ODAC playoffs. In the opener, Clever worked the final two innings in a 4-3 win. He allowed no hits, no walks and struck out one. In game two, he worked the final 1.2 innings in a 6-4 win. In the two games, Clever pitched 3.2 innings without allowing a base hit.

RP  Christian Dahlstrom, So., Rockford

Dahlstom went 2-0 in a pair of relief appearances to help Rockford secure the final spot in the NACC South Division Tournament. Dahlstrom entered both games with the score tied and runners on first and second with two outs. He retired the first batter he faced in each game and then proceeded to finish each game and not allow a run in either. In total, Dahlstom pitched 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just 6 hits and striking out 6.
