The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its twelfth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the ninth Team of the Week of the 2024 season.

Games of April 8-14, 2024

C   Rob Manetta, Sr., Old Westbury

Over the weekend, Manetta went 9-for-18 (.500) and recorded nine RBIs and six runs. Manetta finished the weekend with three home runs. On the mound, Manetta made two relief appearances, one against each conference opponent. Against Mount St. Vincent, Manetta added four more strikeouts to his season total. Manetta recorded the save for the Panthers in the late game of a doubleheader with Mount St. Mary's. Manetta pitched 1.2 innings, striking out two batters and only allowing two hits. Manetta also showcased his speed on the bases. He finished the weekend with three stolen bases on three attempts.

1B  Kadin Bergstrom, So., Rockford

Bergstrom had a trio of multi-hit games including a pair of three-hit performances. Bergstrom finished 9-for-16 with five home runs, a double, eight RBIs and eight runs scored. For the week he hit .563, slugged 1.563.

2B  Aaron Santos, Jr., FDU-Florham

Santos batted .643 in four games this week for FDU-Florham. He batted 9-for-14 with six RBI, three doubles, a triple, a home run and scored six runs.

SS  Trent Youngblood Sr., Transylvania

Youngblood batted .750 (6-for-8) over the weekend with seven walks, 2-for-2 in stolen bases, six runs scored and five RBI's. He hit a home run in the win over Bluffton.

3B  AJ Reid, Sr., Wabash

Reid became the first player in the 158-year history of the Wabash program to hit for the cycle while also batting .524 (11-for-21) over five games for the Little Giants. Reid finished the week with 11 hits, including a double, two triples, three home runs, and 14 RBI in five games. He had a 1.190 slugging percentage. The senior also drew three walks for a .560 on-base percentage and did not commit and error in 15 total chances at third base.

OF  Mat Bruno, Gr., Cortland

Bruno batted .588 (10-for-17) with a homer, triple, three doubles, 13 RBI and nine runs scored in a 4-0 week for the Red Dragons. He recorded at least two hits in each game, and he became Cortland's career leader with 175 RBI.

OF Clarence Givhans, Sr., MCLA

Givhans batted .667 (8-for-12) with an on-base percentage of .789 and a slugging percentage of 1.750 with a double, four home runs, nine RBI, six walks, six runs scored and three stolen bases in four games for the Trailblazers.

OF Will Granata, So., Mt. St. Vincent

Granata dazzled at the plate for the Dolphins, who went 4-1 during the week, including sweeping then undefeated Maritime, He went 13 for 23 (.565) with five home runs, 15 RBI and nine runs scored.

OF Andrew Kell, Jr., Salisbury

Kell slashed an absurd .727/.688/1.455 with two doubles, two homers, six runs, and nine RBIs during the Sea Gulls' 2-1 week.

OF  Alec Reilly, Sr., Marymount

Reilly continued to be a force in the heart of the order for Marymount as they went 4-0 last week, 3-0 in conference action. Slugging at a 1.417 clip, while sporting a .583 average (7-for-12), the fifth-year knocked in seven RBI with two home runs. In Sunday's matchup with the Griffins, Reilly hit Marymount's first-ever cycle in program history.  

DH  Ryan Kramer, So., Wooster

Kramer was on a tear all week long, slashing .563/.619/1.313. He hit 9-for-16 on the week with 11 RBI, eight runs scored, and four home runs.

SP Ben Amon, Sr., TCNJ

Amon spun a three-hit shutout on Saturday, striking out eight without a walk in the Lions' 12-0 rout of New Jersey City. It was the right-hander's fourth career complete game and his second career shutout.

SP  Sam Lavin, Sr., St. Olaf

In two appearances, Lavin went 1-0 with a save while not allowing a run in 7.1 innings of work in St. Olaf's 4-1 week. On Tuesday, the senior struck out 10 during a two-hit shutout of St. Scholastica in the second shutout of his career. On Saturday, Lavin entered the game with the tying run at the plate and got a strikeout for the final out in a 7-4 game-two win at Saint Mary's for the second save of his career. He also hit .533 (8-for-15) with a home run, a double, six walks, seven runs scored, and seven RBI in the five games.

SP Zachary Simone, Gr., Lasell

Simone tossed a seven-inning, complete game one-hitter on Saturday as Lasell shutout Anna Maria, 17-0. Simone was perfect except for a double in the fourth inning, setting down 21 of the 22 batters he faced, including seven strikeouts.

SP Chris Suter, Jr., Union

Suter was stellar in his two outings in a week that saw the Garnet Chargers go 4-0. He was lights out in a complete game shutout effort against St. Lawrence on Sunday, allowing only one hit with four strikeouts. He also pitched a scoreless inning of relief in Wednesday's win over Williams College.

RP  Dan Driscoll, Jr., Eastern Connecticut State

The junior lefty fanned eight and walked one in six innings of shutout relief as the Warriors extended their winning streak to 20 with a 5-4 Little East Conference win at the University of Southern Maine. Driscoll started the fourth inning with Eastern trailing, 4-3 and allowed only leadoff singles in the sixth and seventh the rest of the way. He got a called strikeout with the bases loaded to end the eighth and pitched a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts to close out the win.

RP  Michael Gray, So., Denison

Gray made three appearances out of the bullpen on the week and finished with one win and a 1.08 earned run average across 8.1 innings. He allowed just two hits, one run and one walk while striking out 12 during his time on the mound.
