The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its thirteenth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the eleventh Team of the Week of the 2024 season. next week will be the last Team of the Week for 2024.

Games of April 22-28 2024

C   Logan Eilbacher, Fr., Catholic

Eilbacher had a monster weekend in a three-game sweep of Lycoming. Eilbacher homered in all three games, hitting .600 (9-for-15) for the series with three homers, three doubles, and nine RBI. Eilbacher slugged an absurd 1.400 over the three-game stretch, scoring seven runs and adding a stolen base for Catholic.

1B  Howie Hatton, Sr., Crown

Hatton dominated at the plate going 11-for-19 (.579) over the week totaling 12 RBI's, 11 runs, four home runs two doubles, one triple, and two walks. Defensively he totaled 24 putouts in five contests leading Crown to clinch a UMAC playoff spot.

2B Davie Morgan, Sr., N.C. Wesleyan

Morgan slashed .667/.720/1.167 with 12 hits in 18 At-bats. He scored 11 and drove in eight with five extra-base hits (three doubles and two home runs).

SS Aidan Conley, Fr., Emory

Conley went 8-for-16 (.500) with 10 RBI over the weekend, helping the Eagles to a 3-1 series win over the Judges. He had at 10 RBI and scored five. Four of his eight hits went for extra bases as he collected three doubles and one triple. He finished second on the team with six walks across the five games and went 4-for-5 in stolen base attempts. He also sang a beautiful 10/10 rendition of the national anthem prior to Saturday's doubleheader.

3B  Jacob Evangelista, Sr., East Texas Baptist

Evangelista had a strong weekend at Ozarks with seven hits and batting over .636 (7-for-11) recording four doubles and five RBI. He was walked twice and never struck out.

OF  Colton Brown, Jr., Rose-Hulman

Brown had a career weekend in the three-game sweep of Defiance with six hits including two doubles and his first two home runs of his career. His first home run proved to be the game-winner in game one, and his second was an early grand slam to put the Fightin' Engineers in control of the game. He also added 5 runs scored and 7 RBIs with an insane slash line of .545/.538/1.273 and an OPS of 1.811.

OF  David Dorsey, Jr., Concordia-Morehead

Dorsey had at least one hit in all three games for the Cobbers last week, batting .461 (6-for-13) with three home runs, eight RBI, and six runs scored. Dorsey had a career-high four RBI in the first game against Saint John's on 4/23 and belted two home runs in game two. Dorsey has hit safely in six straight games.

OF  Joe Perona, So., North Park

Pereona robbed a would-be home run in game two of the doubleheader and hit a walkoff double later that same game. He did this while batting 12-for-19 (.632) with seven extra-base hits (four doubles, two triples and one home run), 15 RBI, nine runs and five SB.

OF  Anthony Madigan, Sr., SUNY Maritime

Madigan hit a combined .552 (16-for-29), as the Maritime offense put up 99 runs in six games. He broke Maritime's single-season hits record with his 64th hit of the season at Farmingdale on Sunday, part of a 2-for-6 effort. Madigan drove in 14 runs and scored nine times across the six games.

DH Josh Johnson, Jr., Texas-Dallas

Johnson hit .500 (7-for-14) with a .929 slugging percentage as the Comets went 4-0 on the week. He scored six runs and drove in eight with a pair of stolen bases. In Tuesday's 17-10 win over Centenary (La.), Johnson hit two home runs in the same inning, recording four RBI in the game.

SP Drew Hedtke, So, Bethany Lutheran

Hedtke put forth another masterful performance on the mound for Bethany Lutheran Saturday, tossing a one-hit shutout in the Vikings seven inning win over Minnesota Morris. He struck out six batters in the matchup and has now went at least seven innings in four of his last five starts.

SP Jackson Powers, Jr., Heidelberg

Powers threw nine innings of shutout baseball against Marietta, only allowing two hits, while also fanning four in the win.

SP Rob Salvatore, Jr., Kean

Salvatore tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just 4 singles along the way as Kean took then sole possession of first place in the NJAC, He struck out eight and walked just one.

RP  Jack Mullen, Jr., Colby-Sawyer

Mullen continued to dominate on the mound for the Chargers throwing 4.1 innings over three appearances this week. Mullen finished the week with five strikeouts while not allowing a single hit or run in the three wins. Mullen picked up the win on April 22nd in two innings against Vermont State University - Lyndon with three punchouts. 

RP  Kyle Patlove, Sr., Union

Patlove made three appearances in relief this past week as Union College went 4-1. Patlove picked up his third win of the season in game one of the doubleheader against Skidmore. He turned around and closed out game two to earn his first career save. Patlove pitched 3.2 scoreless innings and only allowed one hit while striking out two.
