For the second time in a week, UW-Platteville swept UW-Stout at Nelson Field, this time coming back to take a 2-1 10-inning first game win, then capping off the day with a 4-1 second game win Wednesday. In game one, UW-Stout errors in the ninth and tenth innings led to runs, allowing the Pioneers to escape with a win. The Pioneers then took control of the second game with a three run second inning.
Senior Clayton Freimuth matched a career-high 14 strikeouts as he led the top-seeded Frostburg State to a 4-1 victory over sixth-seeded Christopher Newport in the opening round of the 2015 CAC tournament. In other CAC action Salisbury needed two extra innings to defeat Wesley, 5-4, and Mary Washington advanced with a 12-7 win over Marymount. The CAC tournament now moves to the campus of Frostburg State for the second round on Thursday.
Junior Matthew Paola hit an RBI single through the left side in the top of the 11th inning and classmate Nick Quattro fired 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to lead Endicott to a 2-1 win over Southern Maine between two of the top teams in New England at the USM Baseball Stadium. Southern Maine and Endicott, who have faced each other in the 2013 and 2014 NCAA Division III New England Regional Finals, are 1-1 on the season with the Huskies taking a 4-2 win in March.
Washington University had 10 different players get hits as the Bears finished with a season-high 21 hits in their 15-10 win at Iowa Wesleyan. Zach Kessinger, with four hits in the day, increased his career hits total to 208, passing Cornell Foggie (1985-88) for fourth on Washington's all-time hits leaderboard. He has also reached base safely in all 31 games this season and extended his reached-base streak to 36 games, dating to April 30, 2014.
Justin law's three-run home run helped power Texas Lutheran to its 10th straight SCAC win, as they defeated Southwestern 10-4. The Bulldogs were down 2-0 when play was halted on Saturday due to rain but they cranked out 10 runs and seven hits in four innings after play was resumed Wednesday.
Highlighted by the first career hits by freshmen Travis Brown and Matt Alcantara and a first career win by freshman Mike Remeikis, Stevenson posted a 14-7 non-conference victory versus Neumann at Park Field. The Mustangs posted their fifth-straight game with at least 10 runs while recording 10 hits for the 12th time this season. The team also posted at least 10 RBIs for the fifth-straight game and sixth this season.
Phil McGovern and Jack Roberts combined to go 8-for-10 as Williams came back from an early seven-run deficit to beat Rensselaer Polytechnic Intitute, 9-8, this afternoon at Robison Field.
No. 8 Heidelberg cruised to a non-conference victory, routing Defiance 16-5 at Peaceful Valley. The Student Princes built themselves an early lead and did not let up, scoring 10 runs in the first four innings of the victory. Senior Doug Miller led the way for the Berg on the day, going 4-for-5 with three RBI in the rout.
The No. 2 UW-Whitewater Warhawks posted a comeback victory in the second game of a WIAC doubleheader at UW-Oshkosh to take three of four games in the season series. The Warhawks dropped the first game by a 10-6 score before winning 5-4 in the nightcap. UW-Whitewater is currently in second place in the conference behind UW-Platteville, which is 8-0 in the league.

Taking advantage of a run-down on the opposite side of the diamond, junior Corey Wilcox was able to cross the plate in the top of the ninth inning to give Springfield a one-run lead, which would stand as the Pride defeated Elms, 5-4, at MacKenzie Stadium. With the win, Springfield has now won two-straight.
After a weekend sweep of the Hiram Terriers, Allegheny look to be on the right foot heading into the final stages of the season, evidenced by a monster offensive outburst that pushed the Blue and Gold past the No. 24 John Carroll Blue Streaks, 16-10, at Schewickert Field. The Gators were paced offensively by the top of the lineup, as Allegheny's one through four hitters combined for nine of the squad's 12 hits, highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance by freshman Dan Bonnett that included two RBI and three runs scored.
A three-run second inning backed up a solid starting pitching performance by Nate Montgomery as Pacific held off a late innings rally by Corban to beat the Warriors 4-3 at Volcanoes Stadium. Montgomery went six innings to improve to 2-1 on the season, allowing one run on five hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Tyler Kotchik came in in the ninth to earn his sixth save of the season.
An eight-run sixth inning helped Concordia (Wisc.) roll past Carroll, 15-2. The Falcons finished with 14 hits and scored 13 of their 15 runs over their final three at bats in the convincing win over the Pioneers. The game ended in eight innings due to the 10-run rule. Junior Josh Ruppel tossed six strong innings for the Falcons, while punching out a season-best eight batters in his second win of the season.
Anna Maria snapped a seven-game winless streak with a win in game two against the Cadets of Norwich. Norwich took a 6-5 win in eight innings in game one before the AMCATS rallied for a 5-1 win in the nightcap.

UW-La Crosse earned three wins over sixth-ranked UW-Stevens Point at Copeland Park. The Eagles took the opener, 7-6, in a game that was halted due to lightning and rain April 7. UW-La Crosse then earned a 4-3 victory in the first game of the originally scheduled doubleheader and finished the day with a 5-4 win in eight innings in the nightcap.
Sophomore Matt Hardy went 3-for-4 with three RBI and 3 runs scored as Nichols defeated Lasell 14-6 in non-conference action. The Bison scored 14 runs in their second consecutive game as sophomore Mike Piekarczyk also had three hits for the Bison while driving in a pair of runs and scoring one.
New York University picked up a pair of victories over Yeshiva at MCU Park in Brooklyn. The Violets are now riding a four-game winning streak after the two wins, 4-0 in game one and 18-4 in game two, against the Maccabees. The Violets did 75 percent of its scoring in game one in the home half of the first inning, plating three runs. Game two was a different story where NYU poured on the offense late, exploding for 13 runs in the bottom of the sixth.
MIT used a 17-hit attack, one that included four home runs, to muscle its way past Clark, 19-5, in a NEWMAC game this afternoon. Freshman Austin Filiere tied a school record with three of the four home runs and drove in seven runs while senior Parker Tew hit a grand slam and drove in six for the Engineers.
Antonio Damiano singled in Danny Souza with two outs in the ninth inning to give Case Western Reserve its third consecutive walk-off win, 3-2 over No. 12 Wooster. Dan Sondag earned his second consecutive victory with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, including retiring the final two batters in the eighth inning with the bases loaded.
Freshman Tim Elrick went 3-for-4 with two RBI, and classmate Tyler Weninger doubled and drove in a pair of runs as visiting Wentworth Tech defeated Babson, 5-4, in non-conference baseball action at Govoni Field. Sophomore Jimmy Temte went 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Leopards. Junior Corey Jerolmon earned his first win of the season, allowing just two earned runs on six hits while striking out a pair over six innings of work.
In a game that saw six lead changes or ties, Mount Saint Mary took advantage of a bases-loaded situation in the bottom of the eighth, and leadoff hitter Matt Cahill put the hosts in front with a sacrifice fly before Sean Betterly nailed down his fourth save of the season as the Blue Knights edged NJCU in a non-conference tilt at the MSMC Baseball Field.

Gordon defeated Trinity (Conn.) 12-9 at J. Tec White Field. Gordon's Larry Torres earned the win, in his first start as a Fighting Scot, pitching four strong innings while allowing just a run on four hits with two strikeouts.
Bridgewater (Va.) pushed across two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 5-5 tie and take a 7-5 victory over No. Shenandoah. The game was played following the completion of the April 8 game that was halted due to bad weather. Shenandoah preserved their lead, winning 3-2. With a loss by Virginia Wesleyan to Randolph-Macon, the Hornets clinched the top seed in the ODAC tournament.
St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) managed to withstand a late flurry in the sixth inning to secure a wild 9-6 win and a season series victory over SUNY-Maritime at Reinhart Baseball Field. On the mound, Connor Pasetti improved to 2-2 on the season after allowing two earned runs while striking out four batters in 5.1 innings. Senior Anthony Inserillo pitched 3.1 scoreless innings and fanned three to pick up the save with the tying run at the plat
John Mulready drew the game-winning RBI walk and Nick Comei batted 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored as WPI edged Becker, 8-7. The Crimson and Gray, down 7-4 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, saw Comei smack a two-run double to right and Sean Greene follow with an RBI double of his own to even the game at 7-7. After a pair of pitching changes, Mulready walked to enable Greene to score the decisive run.
