Seth Lamando threw a five-hitter with no walks and eight strikeouts and Paul Dondero went 3-for-5, including a home run to lead off the game, as nationally top-ranked Cortland defeated fourth-ranked Oswego, 8-1, in the opening game of a three-game SUNYAC series.

Hugh Smith threw 8 ⅔ innings and top-seeded Whitworth used a four-run first inning to build an early lead before holding off fourth-seeded Pacific for a 5-3 victory in the NWC Tournament opener at Merkel Field. Whitworth will face second-seeded Pacific Luthera, a 13-6 winner over George Fox.
Rhodes and Oglethorpe were locked in a scoreless tie for much of the contest but it was the Lynx who built a late lead pushing out to a 5-0 victory in the opener of the SAA Tounament at Hendrix. Hendrix was a 6-1 winner over Centre. At Birmingham-Southern Ben Jernigan tossed a complete game and Austin Haight collected three hits as Berry defeated Millsaps, 9-2. Birmingham-Southern needed extra innings to defeat Sewannee 4-3 in 11 innings.
The CAC tournament continued on Friday but only one game was completed. Marymount defeated Penn State-Harrisburg 10-6 to set up a rematch with Salisbury. Wesley and Frostburg State was suspended due to heavy storms in the area knotted at 13-13 in the ninth inning.
Eric Teesdale and Patrick Roberts carried The College of New Jersey to its 12th consecutive victory as they shut out Rutgers-Camden, 4-0. Teesdale put forth his best performance as a starter. He went eight innings and gave up just four hits and struck out four. Teesdale issued five bases on balls, but rose to the challenge each time RUC had runners in scoring position.
Nick Comei collected his 100th and 101st career hit as WPI defeated host Springfield in the NEWMAC West Division series opener, 12-4, on Berry-Allen Field. Starting his final game on Berry-Allen Field, senior Dan Green pitched 6.2 innings and struck out two, while Joey Gamache came on in relief, and pitched the final 1.1 innings, picking up a pair of strikeouts.
Alma got its bats going and played solid defense in the series opener at Cavin, sweeping the Knights in both games of a doubleheader, 2-1, 8-0. Alma is now one win away from becoming the third team in school history to record 20 wins, and sits four wins shy of the school-record of 23 wins, set by the 1981 squad.
Mary Hardin-Baylor grabbed an early lead but late inning struggles would again prove costly as the Cru fell to East Texas Baptist 18-8 in Marshall. East Texas earned the win with an 11 run eighth, highlighted by a Connor Combs grand slam.
Freshman Bryan Gillen drove in the game-winning run as part of a two-run ninth-inning that gave the Arcadia a 4-3 MAC Commonwealth victory over visiting Lebanon Valley at Erny Field.

Junior Tommy DePaul went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base breaking the all-time for stolen bases in a career leading DeSales past Eastern, 7-4, in MAC Freedom action. The win give DeSales its 20th win of the season marking the 17th straight season and the 22nd season in the last 23 years head coach Tim Neiman has won 20+ games in a year.

Brandon Eck compiled his second complete-game victory, spotlighting a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference series-opening win for Manchester. Eck danced around some early trouble from a stubborn Transylvania offense and received ample support from his offensive teammates in the 9-4 win.
Howard Payne held off a late surge by Texas-Tyler to claim a 5-4 conference victory. The Yellow Jackets used a four-run six to gain a 5-1 advantage over the Patriots. Texas-Tyler made the game close after scoring one in the seventh and two in the bottom of the ninth.
A late inning single in the opener was the lone hit for Coe in the first game of the series against Luther, while the Norse also took the second game in the start of the four-game weekend series. Luther won game one 3-0 and game two 8-3. In game one, Blake Peterson followed up his no-hitter against Simpson in his last start with a one-hitter. He walked four and struck out seven.
No. 13 Occidental took another step towards history. Scott Ericksen pitched the game of the year, Jamie Cooper hit a two-run homer and the Tigers beat No. 18 Cal Lutheran 4-1 at Anderson Field in the first of a three-game series between the teams this weekend. Occidental won its 25th game out of its last 26 and improves its second double-digit win streak of the season to 12 games. Earlier this year Oxy won 13 in a row.

Loras swept Simpson, earning their first consecutive victories in conference action this season. With the pair of wins, Loras moves to 11–17 overall and 5–13 in the Iowa Conference. Senior Alex Steines pitched a two-hit complete game en route to a 6–1 victory in game one. In game two, the Duhawks were victorious 11–2, behind four multi-hit performances.
Keystone opened a key Colonial States Athletic Conference series with an 11-4 victory over visiting Immaculata at Christy Mathewson Field. The Giants built a 7-0 lead after three innings and cruised to the win.
At Southwestern's Rockwell Field, Nathan Malinovsky hurled a four-hit shutout to clinch Texas Lutheran's first regular-season conference championship in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. TLU, in its third season in the SCAC, defeated Southwestern 1-0. TLU's victory also assured the fact that the SCAC Tournament will be played at Katt-Isbel Field in Seguin, Texas next weekend. The Bulldogs will be the top seed and will open the tournament against the No. 4 seed.
