| Corsair sophomore starter Tucker Hetherman spun a masterpiece of an outing, scattering five hits over 7.1 shutout innings on 119 pitches to shutdown #3 Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon. Mass-Dartmouth won 7-0. In the hosts' third win over a nationally ranked opponent this season (Keystone, UMass Boston), the righty received plenty of run support from the men behind him as the Blue and Gold offense shined for 13 hits, seven runs (all earned), and a pair of stolen bases. Another day, another walk-off win for the Montclair State baseball team. Freshman Peter Cosentino lofted a sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the ninth lifting the Red Hawks to a 5-4 victory over FDU-Florham at Yogi Berra Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. MSU (10-8) posted their second straight walk-off victory and third of the season as it won its second straight contest. Catcher Brad Edwards finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI. Nate Peacock had two hits and three runs batted in for the Devils (8-13).
Ithaca earned a marquee regional victory at Freeman Field as the Bombers walked-off with a 6-5 win over Oswego State to improve to 12-4 on the season. Oswego, which is now 12-6 on the year, has reached the Division III College World Series each of the past two seasons. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Ithaca trailed by a score of 5-4. Junior Buzz Shirley led off with a double to the left-center gap and then moved up to third on an infield single by Matt Carey. After an out was recorded, Carey stole second to move the winning run into scoring position. A wild pitch ensued to bring Shirley home for the tying run and then senior Garrett Snyder won the game with a sacrifice fly to center, which brought home Carey. The Bombers never led in the contest until the walk-off sac fly.

Fourth-ranked Trinity (Texas) team beat Hardin-Simmons |
RIT (7-8, 2-2 Liberty League) took both games of a doubleheader versus Liberty League foe Rochester (10-9, 5-3 Liberty League) from Tiger Stadium. RIT won game one, 5-0 and rallied from a five-run deficit to win game two on a walk-off wild pitch, 7-6. The Tigers have now won four straight games. In game one, RIT junior hurler Stevie Branche was outstanding, limiting the Rochester offense, who scored 23 runs in two meetings against the Tigers on March 24 to just four hits. Branche did not allow a runner past second base and struck out eight Yellowjackets batters to earn his first win of the 2019 season and first shutout of his collegiate career. Jack Herman would enter in relief for Rochester in the final inning and uncork a wild pitch to the backstop, allowing Kyle Terzini to cross home plate for RIT's walk-off victory.
Carthage (10-9, 2-4) out-hit Wheaton (Ill., 13-6, 3-2), 27-24, as the Red Men managed a split of a CCIW at Lee Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, Ill. Wheaton won the first game, 9-8, in 10 innings, but the Carthage took the nightcap, 10-7. In the bottom half of game one, with Carthage's Clark Hendricks on the mound, Wheaton's Sam Reichert and Mathias Haggerty connected on back-to-back ground-rule doubles, Haggerty's scoring Reichert for the game-winning run and a 9-8 Thunder victory. Wheaton attempted a comeback in game two but the Red Men added two runs in the ninth on RBI-singles by Cody Phelps and Myles Farley to put the game out of reach.
Fifth-ranked Texas Lutheran received three RBI, including a two-run home run, from Tyler Cauley and handed No. 16 Concordia Texas a 6-2 loss at Tornado Field. Cauley collected three hits and went 3-for-5. He hit a two-run homer in the first to give TLU a quick 2-0 lead. Cauley singled through the right side in the sixth to score Blade Strzelczyk. Thomas Varner singled in the eighth to drive in two runs, and Cullen Motsinger gave TLU another insurance run in the ninth with an RBI single.
Led by a six-inning win on the mound by junior Zack Kopstein, MIT overcame an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Clark by a 7-2 final. The Engineers put together an 11-hit attack on offense and have now won four of their last five games. Four Engineers finished with multiple hits, with Andrew Krause going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs batted in. For Clark, Andrew Thibault had two RBI and scored a run, while Nick Jordan finished the game 2-for-4 with one run.
Host Berry rallied and walked off the Scots, 9-8, in the bottom of the ninth inning at Bowdoin Field. Covenant (12-15) took a 4-0 lead in the first inning and led 8-6 entering the eighth inning before Berry (20-9) pulled together the comeback win. The Scots had 13 hits in the game, led by CJ Edmond and Alex Gonzalez with three each, as Covenant out-hit the host Vikings 13-8. Brett Kernodle and Hunter Christian also had two hits apiece.

Juniors Alex Rodriguez and Geoff Stillman combined for four hits, a triple, two home runs, four runs, and six RBIs to lead Trinity (Conn.) Bantams to a 16-0 victory over the visiting Dean Bulldogs at Murren Field in DiBenedetto Stadium. Trinity improves to 13-2 with its 10th victory in a row, while the Bulldogs drop to 5-12 with their first loss in three games. Trinity plays at Eastern Connecticut tomorrow at 4 p.m., while the Bulldogs has a doubleheader at Mitchell on Saturday at noon. Trinity scored five runs in the first inning, including two on an RBI double by Reinisch, and six in the sixth frame that included both Rodriguez' and Stillman's home runs.
Gwynedd Mercy and Widener played to a 6-6 tie in a rescheduled game from Monday. The game was called after the eighth due to darkness. The Griffins pounded out 15 hits including six doubles on the day. Nick Mulvey tied a program single-game record with three doubles as the senior went 4-for-5. Tommy Nardini had career highs with three hits and three runs, but a three-run home run in the eighth by the home team would eventually tie things up.
Yeshiva earned a convincing non-conference victory over Vaughn, 15-3, at Overpeck Park. The Maccabees advance to 2-15, while the Warriors drop to 0-3. Yeshiva scored nine runs in the opening inning and never looked back. Sophomore pitcher Dovie Solomon earned his first collegiate victory on the mound, as he retired all 12 batters he faced and struck out seven of them. The Macs' pitching held the Warriors to just two hits for the game.
Thomas More tallied 12 hits as they defeated Heidelberg, 7-3, at Peaceful Valley in Tiffin, Ohio. The Saints improve to 8-10 and the Student Princes fall to 14-6. Thomas More plated five runs in the eighth as sophomore left fielder Brady Reynolds had a run batted-in single scoring senior right fielder Joshua Boeckmann, first-year first baseman Brennan Baker had a single scoring Reynolds and junior designated hitter Matt Wellbrock and senior short stop Sean Lawrence had a double scoring Baker and senior center fielder Blaise Ostertag.
The Allegheny Gators scored 11 runs combined in the fifth and sixth innings to take down Penn State Behrend, 18-2, in nonconference action at the Robertson Athletic Complex. Allegheny improves to 9-7 overall, having won nine of their last 11 games. The Gators' sixth-straight win over the Lions drops Penn State Behrend drops to 11-6 on the year. Vincent Carone had a career day, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored. Bret Kelly had a three-hit showing in going 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs. Keegan Phillips gave the Gators three players with multiple hits as he finished 2-for-4 with three RBI. Francis Faiello added a two-run triple off the bench.
Senior Nicholas Browne hit a grand slam as sophomore Jordy Allard and the rest of the nationally-ranked Babson baseball team completed the season sweep of WPI with an 8-6 victory at the NEBC. The Beavers (15-2, 6-0 NEWMAC), who entered the game at No. 12 in the most recent D3baseball.com Top 25, extends their winning streak to 14 games. WPI, meanwhile, slips to 16-6 and 2-2. Allard yielded four runs on 11 hits and a walk while striking out five in his second start opposite the Engineers in as many weeks.
Pitt-Bradford competed in its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference road contests at Penn State-Altoona. The Panthers (9-9, 2-4 AMCC) split the two games with the Lions, first taking game one 10-1 before falling 10-4 in game two. "A hard-fought split," Head Coach Zach Foster said. "Bachy threw great game one. And we swung it well. Rehak had a big day. That's what happens when we put it all together. Game two, we made too many errors that hurt us. Eddy battled, but just a lot to overcome. Proud of the way the guys battled."
With three runs in the first and two more in the second, New Jersey City (10-5) compiled more than enough to last the rest of the game as the Gothic Knights defeated the Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary College, 6-4, in a non-conference matchup on April 2 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex. The Gothic Knights have now won 10 of their last 12 games, reaching double-digit wins at the earliest date on the calendar since being 12-4 at the end of March in 2016. NJCU is enjoying its winningest stretch since going 12-2 in a 14-game span from April 9 to May 7, 2005. Mount Saint Mary fell back to .500 on the year (8-8). The Knights were led by reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week Juan Pena, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, an RBI, and another three steals.
St. Joseph's (L.I.) snapped a six game losing skid with a 12-5 non-conference victory over John Jay at Gregg Alfano Field. The Golden Eagles improve to 9-11 on the season as the Bloodhounds slide to 6-17. St. Joseph's surrendered a pair of runs in the top of the first, but a three-run bottom half of the inning gave the Golden Eagles a lead that they would not relinquish. SJC's Jesse Nakashian finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a stolen base. Gehrig Montoro went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, three stolen bases and two run scored. St. Joseph's Tyler Villez picked up the win allowing one run on two hits in 1.1 innings of relief. Starter Ryan Foran surrendered three runs on five hits in 4.2 innings of work. Elliot Robles, Bryan Lyons, and Kevin Yohe all made appearances.
