Catholic picked up two important conference wins over Moravian on Saturday afternoon at Robert J. Talbot Field. With two victories, the Cardinals (18-10, 8-6 LC) moved into third place in the Landmark after defeating the Greyhounds (14-14, 7-4 LC), who started the day at the top of the standings. A strong performance from senior ace Jon Mierzwa and a big pinch-hit single from Will Pyne lifted Catholic to a 4-1 victory in game one, and some stellar defense in game two helped the Cardinals hold on for the Saturday sweep. Senior Bailey Lewis continued his hot hitting at the plate and led the team with four hits and 3 RBIs on the day.
Becker used a seven-run seventh inning to claim game one 12-9, and then defeated the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont by a score of 11-5 in game two to complete the NECC sweep. In game one a seven-run fifth inning for the Mountaineers gave Southern Vermont an 8-2 lead that was erased two innings later when the Hawks matched the Mountaineers run total. In game two it was another big inning they led to the sweep. An eight-run fourth inning put the Hawks ahead for good in game two, as Becker prevailed 11-5.
Junior Nolan Collins earned his fourth win of the season in game one and first-year Bryan Gotti hit his first collegiate home run in game two of Saturday's doubleheader split between Bates and Wesleyan (Conn.). The Bobcats (10-11) took game one 4-2 before falling 10-3 in game two. Bates is back in action Monday when the Bobcats visit Dean for a doubleheader. Collins scattered nine hits over six and a third innings and the Bobcats scored four times in the third inning to defeat the Cardinals 4-2 in game one. The Cardinals (11-12) led 4-2 before exploding for six runs in the top of the ninth, running away with game two of Saturday's doubleheader.
Sewanee took down the Majors of Millsaps on Senior Day in a doubleheader sweep, winning in walk-off fashion, 6-5, before taking the nightcap, 12-5, Saturday afternoon at Montgomery Field. With the doubleheader sweep, the Tigers surpassed their previous win total with their 19th and 20th wins on Saturday. The team moved past the 19-win total the team had in a season, happening twice in 2003 and 2017.
First, left fielder Jack Sojka, pictured left, drew a bases-loaded walk for the first win at Boeve Stadium. A few hours later, center fielder Evan Maday, pictured right, lined a game-winning homer over the right-field fence.Two games, two dramatic, 7-6 walk off wins for a Hope College baseball team on an unprecedented roll. The nationally ranked Flying Dutchmen swept visiting Alma College in memorable fashion by identical scores on Saturday. Hope extended its win streak to 13 games while improving to 22-1 overall. The Flying Dutchmen upped their league record to 13-1 and stayed tied for first place in the MIAA standings with Adrian College (20-4). It wasn't easy, though, for Hope — which entered the weekend with a .952 winning percentage that ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III.

| Willamette starting pitcher Matt Steindorf set a school record with his 31st career win after throwing the first eight innings in an 8-5 triumph over George Fox in Northwest Conference action on Saturday at Morse Athletic Field. Two strong pitching performances from junior right-handers Jack Schaller and Nate Bye propelled Ohio Northern to a 6-2 and 6-1 sweep over Ohio Athletic Conference league leader John Carroll Schweickert Field in University Heights. With the victories, the Polar Bears even their overall record at 13-13 this season, including a 4-6 mark in conference play. JCU drops to 19-9 overall and 7-3 in OAC action following their two losses. Schaller earned his team-best fourth pitching victory after tossing seven innings and surrendering just one earned run in Saturday's opener. The junior from Bowling Green scattered six hits in the contest and added a strikeout to the ledger. Bye put together a similar line in game two, conceding six hits and an earned run in 8.2 innings. In addition, the right-hander struck out six batsman, giving him a team-high 31 strikeouts on the season.
La Roche defeated Medaille in both games and moved to an 8-2 conference record. They topped Medaille 7-0 in 7 innings in game one and then proceeded to win the second game 14-4 in 9 innings. Preseason All-American Tre Thomas threw a complete game shutout in the opener. Thomas allowed just one walk and 3 hits and while striking out 9. 57 of his 76 pitches were strikes. Alek Tesla got the start and tossed 5 innings to earn the win. Tesla gave up just 2 runs and struck out 6. Four Redhawk pitchers each threw an inning to finish the game. Mike Nuzzo, Zach Oddi, and Chris Hanlon each threw a scoreless inning of relief.
Alvernia (20-9-1, 11-3) swept Albright (8-18, 4-10) 7-0 and 9-2 in MAC Commonwealth baseball action at Albright. Senior Zack Landy threw a 1-hitter in the opener and Nathan Sides pulled within five hits of the Alvernia career record going 6-for-7 in the doubleheader. Landy faced 23 batters in the 7-inning complete game in game one throwing 85 pitches and strikeout out five.
Scoring double digit runs in each game of the doubleheader while recording 34 total hits, North Central College exploded with a 11-7 and 12-6 doubleheader sweep of Elmhurst to open the three-game College CCIW series. Racking up 18 hits in the opener, the top-five batters in the lineup recorded multiple hits led by Rob Marinec's 4-for-6 showing with three runs scored and three RBI. The offense talleyed 16 more hits in game two as Joe Rizzo led all batters finishing 5-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored.

After getting beaten up 21-7 in game one, Oberlin regrouped to win the nightcap, 8-3, over the visiting Wittenberg Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Dill Field. Senior right-hander Ian Dinsmore stymied the Tigers' bats in game two as he tossed 6.2 innings, scattering five hits and four walks as he allowed just one run en route to running his record to 4-1. At the plate, Lawrence Hamilton and Ben Reed led the Yeomen's 10-hit effort with a pair of base-knocks in the in the game.
Stevens swept SUNY Canton in an Empire 8 Conference doubleheader as freshman Ryan Finegan went 4-for-4 at the plate in the 8-6 game one victory while graduate student Tommy Baronner and senior Donny Gherardi each collected three hits as the Ducks won game two 15-2. Senior Danny Poidomani collected a season-best 13 strikeouts in 4.2 innings on the mound in game one. Sophomore Alex Smith (2-1) earned the win with his 2.1 innings pitched, allowing just two hits and zero runs. Anthony Tur fell to 0-2 for the Roos after giving up the winning run.
Mass-Boston continued to keep pace in the conference standings thanks to a huge Little East Conference sweep of Eastern Connecticut State as the Beacons earned a 6-0 game one win and a 10-7 win in game two Saturday afternoon at Monan Park. The Beacons game one shutout marked the second straight over the Warriors, while their 10-7 victory extended UMB's historic win-streak to seven straight. Last season, the Beacons pounded the Warriors for 13-runs on their way to their third Little East Conference championship. Senior outfielder Nick Herzog finished a double short of the cycle in game one, while junior Ryan McCormick recorded his 100th career hit in the opener.
Northern Vermont University-Lyndon picked up two big North Atlantic Conference wins over UMaine-Farmington. The Hornets held off the Beavers in game one, 5-3, and got the bats going in the nightcap to post an 11-4 win. Ben Rollins went 3-4 at the plate with two RBI and Tucker Root went 2-3 with two RBI and one run to lead Lyndon. Noah Barton went 1-3 with one RBI and one run while Jason Doris, Caleb Laroche, and Ryder Thornton each scored one run. Zak Johnson led the Lyndon attack in game two, going 2-5 with four RBI.

Marietta College swept an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader from Wilmington College Saturday (April 13) afternoon. Don Schaly Stadium was packed for the annual Community Day festivities sponsored by Qdoba and Burger King as the Pioneers posted 8-7 and 16-5 wins over the Quakers. The Etta Express improves to 12-14 overall and 6-4 in the OAC. Wilmington falls to 6-21 on the season and 2-8 in conference games. It took a little while for the Pioneer offense to get rolling, but once it did, Marietta scored the final six runs of the first game for the come from behind win and then blew the Quakers out in game two.
Shenandoah earned its second ODAC doubleheader road sweep of the season with a pair of close victories at league newcomer Ferrum. Shenandoah (18-9, 9-7 ODAC) was a 2-1 winner in the opener before completing the sweep over the Panthers (19-13, 10-6) with an 8-6 win in the nightcap. Junior Gerard DePhillips had the save in both contests.

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team split both sides of a doubleheader with Pitt-Greensburg Saturday at the Kessel Athletics Complex, taking game two in walk-off fashion. Pitt-Bradford (14-10, AMCC 7-5) dropped the opener, 1-0, then Jason Lucarelli came home on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth for the walk-off win in game two. "Hard fought split," Head Coach Zach Foster said. "Reid pitched well enough to win game one and was a tough-luck loser. Game two, we battled back and forth for momentum and our guys took advantage of their opportunities late to take the game. Both very fun games to be a part of."
Franklin wrapped up a six-game homestand, welcoming the Manchester Spartans to town for two games between two squads deadlocked in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) standings. In both games, the Grizzlies (16-10, 5-3 HCAC) fell behind the Spartans (8-19, 3-5 HCAC) after the guests jumped on Grizzly starting pitching. But the combination of a relentless offense and a dominant effort from the bullpen helped Franklin rally for two comeback wins by scores of 13-4 and 9-5. Drew Naumovich drove in four runs and moved into a tie for the team lead with his fifth home run of the year. Alex Mis recorded five hits and Brandt Pawley knocked in three runs in game one. But the story of the day was the Franklin bullpen that saw five pitchers hold the Spartans to just four hits over 11 1/3 innings of scoreless ball.
