Three pitchers combined for Drew's second-straight five-hitter and the Rangers upset No. 11 Kean 3-1 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action. Senior Jeff Serin spun five scoreless innings to pick up the win, firing nine strikeouts and yielding just one hit. Senior Vinny Carlesi came on to pitch 3 2/3 innings and allowed just one run before sophomore Teddy Hoxie recorded the final out with runners on base to pick up his second save in as many games this season. The Rangers (2-0) also five-hit Alvernia in their 3-2 season-opening victory at Kean this past Sunday. Senior Jon Cocchio led Drew at the plate, going 2-for-4 while slugging a big two-run double that put the Rangers up 2-0 in the first inning. Sophomore Ryan Nagle also collected a pair of hits for Drew while classmate Shane Benson roped a double.

Catholic University opened its 2020 season with a 6-0 win over St. Mary's (Md.) at Hawk's Nest field. Good pitching and defense as well as some timely hitting helped the Cardinals defeat the Seahawks. The win marks the second time in the last four years the Cards have opened the season with a win at St. Mary's, the last being a 14-1 victory on Feb. 21, 2017.

Brandeis scored in double figures for the second game in a row as the Judges defeated Bates, 11-5, at Chain-O-Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Florida, as part of the RussMatt Invitational. The Judges improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Bobcats fall to 1-1. For the second game in a row, the Judges scored runs in more than half of their at-bats, crossing the plate in six of nine innings. On the mound, the Judges got an excellent combined pitching performance, allowing just five runs (four earned) on four hits with 11 strikeouts.

Senior Andrew Kasiski had four hits and two RBIs, while classmate and captain Matt Spagnolo provided two hits and five RBIs, to lead Hampden-Sydney to a 15-7 non-conference baseball road win at No. 25 Christopher Newport University on Tuesday afternoon in Newport News. Senior Jonathan Triesler gained the pitching victory for the visiting Tigers (2-2) against the preseason nationally-ranked Captains (2-3). H-SC scored 15 runs on 17 hits … scoring four runs in the first inning and seven more runs in the second inning, before adding three runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth. The Tigers took leads of 4-0 through one, 11-1 through two, 14-1 through four and 15-2 through five. CNU added four runs in the eighth inning and one run in the ninth to provide for the final eight-run margin of victory for the visitors.

The Schreiner Mountaineers swept their doubleheader against Howard Payne 14-3 and 17-2. In Game 1 it was a balanced offensive attack with both Jeffrey Williams and Devin Hooper going 3-3 and Ryan Ragle also having a multi-hit game with 2. Rylan Marchlewicz went 2 hitless innings to earn the win on the mound. In Game 2 Josh Gilliam led the way going 4-4 at the plate with 3 RBI. Reece Hohhertz went 2-2 with a walk and 3 RBI, Williams and Hooper again had a multi-hit game going 2-3, and Dominick Garcia went 2-3 in the game.

Zach Williamson pitched a stellar game to guide Elmira to its first win of the season, a 6-4 victory over Bates College at the Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Florida. The Soaring Eagles (1-2) avenged their loss to the Bobcats (1-2) from Monday's season-opening doubleheader, thanks in part to Williamson's career outing. The senior right-handed pitcher twirled a career-high 8.0 innings en route to his first collegiate win. The Cicero, New York, native limited Bates to three runs, two of which were earned, on seven hits, two walks, and four strikeouts. Williamson received some early offensive support from the EC batters. Jack Volpe '20 led off the bottom of the first with a bang, beating out a three-bagger and immediately energizing the dugout. Tommy Fogarty '20 drove Volpe home for the game's first run with a towering double that carried to the wall in left field.

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor grabbed an early lead and worked out of a couple of late inning jams in a 7-4 victory over Southwestern University in Belton. The Cru improves to 3-1 on the season with the win. The loss drops the Pirates to 2-2 on the year. Landon Murray (1-0) earned the win for UMHB after allowing just one hit and two runs in five innings. Trevor Ripke scattered seven hits in four innings of relief to notch the save. The duo combined to strike out 13 batters on the night. Malek Bolin and Sal Camilleri had two hits apiece among UMHB's six hits in the game.
