Methodist survived a late Randolph-Macon College rally to deal the No.12-ranked Yellow Jackets a 9-7 loss in non-conference action Thursday afternoon. Methodist was leading 8-0 after the top of the sixth but Randolph-Macon cut the deficit to just two runs in the eighth inning. The Yellow Jackets scored a total of seven runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to create intrigue around the final inning. For the Monarchs, Rob Wilkerson was on fire, batting .800 (4-of-5) for the day, Jordan Cassell added three hits and three RBIs in his four at-bats, and Spencer Nelson added a two-run home run over the left field fence.

Conor Deasy tossed a shutout in game one, and the Gators pounded out 15 hits in game two, as Allegheny returned to its winning ways by sweeping a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) doubleheader with Hiram by scores of 2-0 and 10-2. Deasy's first career shutout featured a career-high eight strikeouts, with two hits and two walks scattered throughout. Of his eight strikeouts, Deasy caught four batters looking, including the first and last hitters of the game. The sophomore was efficient all day, retiring the Terriers in order in four of seven innings and not allowing a runner to reach third base. The shutout marked the first for Allegheny's pitching staff since an 11-0 NCAC win against Kenyon on May 2, 2018, and the first time one hurler completed the task himself since Chase Boyer struck out 10 in a 6-0 conference victory over Hiram on April 16, 2016.

Originally planned to be an LEC twin bill, the second game was canceled due to weather. The teams will play two games at the UMD Baseball Field on Saturday, with the first game counting in the LEC standings. Plymouth State will bat last in game two. Noah Wachter allowed just four hits and two runs while striking out seven over 6.1 innings. Brody Fillion reached base in all four of his plate appearances with a double, two singles and a walk.

Ranked first in New England, the Warriors (18-2) opened and closed the game with four-run innings, batting around each time and totaling those runs on eight hits and three errors. Senior first baseman Holden White's two-run single was a key blow in the first inning and Broadhurst hit his fourth home run leading off the ninth. Five of Eastern's 13 hits went for extra bases, with junior catcher Matt Malcom hitting his fourth home run of the year leading off a three-run sixth that helped propel Eastern to a 7-1 lead. In his fifth start of the year, Oldham allowed one (earned) run on five hits and walked only one to complement his seven strikeouts.
