It was Walkoff Wednesday at Bucky Burgau Field. Cobber fans were treated to not one, but two walkoff wins as Concordia Morehead swept Carleton in a midweek doubleheader. Matt Gruber provided the first walkoff hit when he laced a single down the left-field line in the eighth inning of Game 1 that plated Mason Penske to give Concordia a 6-5 victory. It was senior Sean McGuire's turn to give Concordia a win in the nightcap. He drove a single to right field with the bases loaded that brought home Thomas Horan with the game-winning run in a 4-3 triumph. Not only did fans get to see something different in the two walkoff wins, they also got to see the same pitcher earn the victory in both games. Completing the four-game season sweep of Carthage College, North Central College never trailed in the four games this season, rolling to a 8-2 win on Wednesday inside Zimmerman Stadium. The four-game sweep is the third of the season over a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opponent this season, as the Cardinals outscored the Firebirds, 27-2 over the four game series. After the Firebirds pulled to within two runs of the lead with a run in the top of the seventh, the Cardinals put up a four-spot in the bottom half to put the game out of reach. All four runs were scored with two outs in the inning, as the first two batters were retired before Luke Lehnen legged out an infield single and Dom Listi walked to start the rally. Five Cardinal pitchers combined to allow just one earned run on the afternoon, as Nolan Shannon allowed just one walk over his two innings and Patrick Schaefer closed the door in the ninth with a 1-2-3 inning. Knox would attempt to make a comeback, but would come up short as the Blueboys earned the win in game one. The second game of the night would go in the Blueboys favor as well. After being tied 2-2 at the end of the third IC would start to pull away. Bailey Reed would hit his second homer of the day bringing in a run by Tyler Blum. The team would go on to score eight unanswered runs to make the score 10-2 at the end of the sixth inning. This would be enough to earn the Blueboys the win in game two after seven innings.

Visiting Macalester College defeated St. Olaf College, 8-4, in game one before game two was halted due to rain with the Scots leading 4-0 after six innings on Wednesday afternoon at Mark Almli Field. Macalester (8-16, 8-16 MIAC) used a five-run third inning to take a 6-1 lead in the opener and held on for an 8-4 victory over St. Olaf (10-6, 3-5 MIAC). The Oles and Scots played six innings of game two in steady rain before the game had to be halted. Game two will be finished at a later date if circumstances allow. Sophomore Kole Hinrichsen was masterful on the mound Wednesday night, tossing Cornell's first complete-game shutout in more than two years in a 6-0 victory over Midwest Conference baseball rival Grinnell at Ash Park. Hinrichsen delivered the pitching performance of the season, four days after a rough start at Illinois College in which he lasted only two innings. The right-hander struck out 10 Pioneers and faced only five batters over the minimum. Hinrichsen had one hit batsman and did not allow a walk during his 106-pitch outing. The Pioneers had only one runner reach third base against Hinrichsen. That happened after a one-out double from Nate L'esperance in the second inning. Hinrichsen retired 11 consecutive batters before giving up his next hit, an infield single in the sixth. Grinnell's final hit came with one out in the ninth. Cornell provided all the support Hinrichsen needed with a three-run third frame.

In their final regular-season trip across town, St. John Fisher College overcame an early deficit to defeat their non-conference rivals, the University of Rochester, 15-13 at Towers Field. Down two runs, the Cardinals' offense found its groove in the top of the seventh inning. Three of the first four Fisher batters found themselves on base for Beimel, who ripped a one-out, two-RBI single through the right side to even up the runs at eight apiece. A batter later, James Murphy cleared the bases as he sent a first-pitch double to the left field wall, just to be sent home by Ben Lavery on a single to center field. With a runner on first, leadoff hitter Noah Campanelli sent a long ball to left field for his third home run of the year, extending the Cardinals' lead to five. Luke Duffy then grabbed an RBI on a triple and Ward, Jr. drove him home in the top of the eighth inning, which capped off the Cardinals' runs at 15. The Yellowjackets battled back to score another five runs, but Fisher's defense held them off long enough to take the two-run win.
