Bridgewater (Va.) moved its win streak to five games with an 8-0 shutout victory against Hood in nonconference action at the Bridgewater Baseball Field on Tuesday. The pace of the game moved right along with several one-two-three innings before the sixth inning saw the Eagles rally to make it 4-0. The Eagles tallied insurance from this point that they did not need to cash in. The Blazers went down in order in the top of the ninth to end the game and secure the shutout.

Eastern Connecticut State scored six runs with two out in the bottom of the fifth inning and pulled away for a 12-2 non-conference victory over New England College in its 2023 home-opener Tuesday afternoon at the Eastern Baseball Stadium. Ranked No. 2 nationally in Tuesday's recent poll, Eastern (11-1) collected 14 hits off five New England College (3-7) pitchers, six of the hits good for extra bases. Led by junior first baseman and cleanup hitter Ryan Parent, 11 different players contributed a hit, run or RBI. Parent improved his team-leading batting average to .393 by going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scoring. Among his hits were his second home run of the season, which followed senior catcher Matt Malcom's (East Lyme) team-leading fifth home run of the year (29th of his career), which gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

UW-Whitewater blanked Grinnell for eight innings en route to a 5-1 victory Tuesday in Pensacola, Florida. Sam Vomhof opened the scoring with a RBI single to center field that brought in Alex Najera in the third. UWW followed with a run scored off a Pioneer miscue in the fourth and then added two more in the fifth. Adam Cootway doubled to right field to drive in the pair in the bottom of the fifth. He struck again in the seventh with a RBI sacrifice fly to right field to give the Warhawks a 5-0 lead. Grinnell plated their only run in the top of the ninth. UW-Whitewater registered four hits in the game with Cootway leading the offense with three RBI on a 1-1 day at the plate. Trey Bretl picked up his first win on the mound this season scattering three hits across seven innings of work.

Senior catcher Mark Navarro and junior shortstop Blake Beach each rapped two-run singles in a five-run sixth-inning rally, sending McMurry University to a non-conference win Tuesday. The five-run attack busted up a 4-4 tie and sent head coach Josh Lee's squad past D3Baseball.com's No. 19-ranked Trinity University 9-5 in front of a large crowd enjoying warm late March weather at Walt Driggers Field. Navarro finished with three RBI and a run scored, while Beach added a run scored to his offensive line. The sophomore outfielder combination of Casey Turner and Koy Carpenter added two hits each, and Turner also drive in two. Their efforts aided another strong bullpen performance from the Maroon and White. Freshman Noah Hamel, sophomore Grayson Winter, sophomore Dalton Enberg, and freshman Hunter Poe shut down the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference powers to the tune of four hits and no earned runs over the final seven innings.

13th-ranked Randolph-Macon defeated No. 18 Methodist 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets started the scoring in the second then put up a crooked number in the third. After the Monarchs scratched for a run in the top of the eighth, RMC answered in the bottom of the frame. Nathan Chen had a leadoff single, stole second, went to third on a base hit by Ethan Iannuzzi and scored on a sacrifice fly by Dudley to make the final 8-1. Iannuzzi went 3 for 4 with a walk, one run and one RBI. He extended his hitting streak to 14 games and his on-base streak to 17 games.

First-year Nick Reeder scored two runs, drove in two more and pitched three innings, allowing one hit and striking out five, to lead Lycoming to a 12-4 win over Penn College in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader at Penn College on Tuesday afternoon at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field. In the second game, the Warriors brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh inning, but fell 7-3. Reeder allowed one hit, no earned runs, walked one and struck out five in his first collegiate start for the Warriors before first-year Mason Drozal (1-0) pitched two innings, allowing three hits, a run and walking three.

Max Cairo and Jacob Thompson combined for six hits and Ty Weatherspoon struckout 10 to help Oberlin to an 8-6 victory over the Caltech Beavers on Tuesday afternoon at the Kino Sports Complex. A sophomore from Amherst, Ohio, Weatherspoon earned his first-career win as he sprinkled nine hits and three walks over five innings of work. Six of the Yeomen's 12 hits in the game went for extra bases, headlined by a pair of triples from Thompson. Luigi Smarro was nails in the ninth as he locked down his second save of the year with a 1-2-3 inning, inducing a pair of flyball outs before striking out Kristufek to end the game. It was just the second time in the game Caltech went down in order as they stranded 15 runners on base in the loss.

Ramapo defeated Centenary this afternoon in non-conference action, 6-4. The Roadrunners scored four runs in the top of the first and two runs in the top of the ninth to retake the lead before holding the Cyclones in the bottom of the ninth for the non-conference road victory. With the bases loaded in the top of the first Matt Lalomia hit his team leading third home run, a grand slam, to give the Roadrunners a 4-0 lead. Centenary would score three runs in the sixth before they came back to tie the game in the seventh with one run, 4-4. In the top of the ninth with the bases loaded, Tyler Guadagno worked a walk to force home Justin Garthaffner before Lalomia drove home his fifth RBI of the game with a sac fly to right field as Jason Cuba scored, 6-4. Jarod Abram worked the final two innings on the mound for the Roadrunners in relief to earn his first win of the season. Abram struck out one, walked none and did not give up a hit. Dominick Ciani, Lalomia and Cuba all led the Roadrunners with two hits each while Lalomia drove in five RBI.

Christopher Newport junior Jack Braley (2-0) struck out six and scattered five hits while spinning a complete game shutout for the nationally-ranked Captains, leading the home team to a 4-0 win on Tuesday afternoon. In a game that took just one hour and 52 minutes, Braley logged the first complete game shutout for CNU at home since March 31, 2012 when Greg Goldsmith pitched a one-hitter against Averett. The Manassas, Va. native faced only five batters over the minimum against the Knights on Tuesday and recorded the first complete game by a CNU pitcher since Michael Thomas in late March 2016 -- that game came on the road at Bridgewater. The last CG at home was pitched by Bryan Bierlein in 2014, and Goldsmith's 2012 outing was the most recent solo shutout for the CNU pitching staff, nearly 11 years ago to the day.

Sophomore Anthony Tomczak hit a two-run first-inning home run and No. 7 UW-Stevens Point (7-2) never looked back in a 9-1 victory over Washington and Jefferson (9-4). Tomczak added a team-high third RBI later in the game. Trent Van Ess and Payton Nelson had two RBI each and combined for five hits on the day. All three had a runs scored. Jakob Boos went 3-for-4 with a run batted in and two runs scored. Logan Matson also had two hits. UWSP starter Mason Weckler earned his first career win with 6.0 innings pitched. He struck out six and scattered three hits. Jacob Meinholz struck out three in relief and Nick Carpenter also had a strikeout in relief.

Freshman Jason Morgan was 2-for-4 and drove in five runs and Dylan Maria was 3-for-6 with three RBI as #11 Rowan pounded out 20 hits to score a 21-5 win over visiting Haverford (9-6), in a game that was suspended after eight innings due to darkness. It was the Profs' home opener and they improved to 10-3 with their fifth straight win. Morgan hit his second home run of the year in the eighth inning, a three-run shot to score Phil Sedalis and Chris Curcio. The hit first appeared to have a been caught by the Haverford right fielder, but it was then ruled to have cleared the fence. The Profs also got three hits apiece from Tyler Cannon, Ryan Murphy, Dylan Maria and Curcio. Maria had two doubles, Murphy hit one and Anthony Schooley added another. Murphy and Maria each drove in three runs, while Brian Gallante, Pat Defeciani and Sedalis each posted two RBI. Zach Grace (2-0) earned the victory for Rowan, allowing three hits and striking out five in 5.0 innings. Ryan Iovine, Chase Rieger and Sean Colbert combined to finish off the win in relief.

Wesleyan (Conn.) erupted for a season-high 17 hits to score 14 runs in a 14-4 victory over the Carleton Knights Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals got off to a quick start, scoring five runs in the 2nd inning to take a 5-0 lead into the 3rd. The Knights came back with three runs over the next two innings to trim their deficit to just two, but it was all Cardinals from there. Wesleyan pitching held the Knights to only one run over the final five innings while the Cardinals' bats got going again to add nine runs over their final four innings at the plate to reach the final score of 14-4. Wesleyan (5-5) gets back to .500 heading into the final day of their spring break trip, while Carleton falls to 2-6 with the loss.

Mitchell Kelly hit the game-winning homer to lead off the bottom of the ninth as Cortland defeated visiting Cobleskill, 8-7, in baseball non-league action. Cortland (8-7) led 6-1 after seven innings before the Cobleskill (4-8) scored six runs to take the lead in the top of the eighth. The Red Dragons rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth on a two-out Dylan Tierney RBI single and won the game when Kelly hit his second home run of the season over the fence in left center. Cortland finished the game with 19 hits. Cortland used nine pitchers in the game. Grant Biederman, the last of those nine, entered in the eighth and allowed Flora's two-run double that capped Cobleskill's six-run inning. He recovered, however, to strike out the next batter, and allowed just one hit in the top of the ninth but got a double play grounder to end the inning. He earned the win when Kelly hit the walk-off homer.

In a game where North Central College scored the most runs in a single game since 2016, Rob Marinec set a new program record for career hits with 248 in the Cardinals' 21-0 rout of the Illinois Institute of Technology on Tuesday. Fourteen Cardinals recorded at least one hit on the day with six of them being home runs. Gregorio drove in four runs with Roach and Marinec totaling three RBIs. Marinec's home run in the fourth inning gave him the program record for hits in a career with 248. He is also first in career doubles with 54 while ranking second in six different offensive categories.

Oneonta was graced with a sunny day and strong hitting as the Red Dragons picked up a 15-5 win over the Cazenovia Wildcats on Tuesday afternoon. Oneonta earns its sixth straight win and moves to 8-3 overall, while Cazenovia falls to 4-6. Jake Barrett hit 3-for-4 with a double, five RBI, and a stolen base. Franklin Padilla went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI. Seven different Oneonta pitchers got on the mound, and Roper (1-1) won with two strikeouts. Junior Michael Sadowski went 3.0 innings with a game-high four strikeouts.

No. 8 nationally ranked Endicott defeated Saint Joseph's (Me.), 15-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at North Field. Caleb Shpur, Nicolas Notarangelo, Kyle Grabowski, Robbie Wladkowski, and TJ Liponis all homered in the contest to headline the victory. Joseph Millar and the five aforementioned Gulls also knocked in at least two runs apiece to round out the list of offensive highlights. On the bump, Connolly was stellar in the longest outing of his career as the sophomore compiled four 1-2-3 innings and retired 11 batters in a row spanning the first four innings.

Heidelberg Student Princes launched four home runs en route to a 16-5 win over Defiance at Peaceful Valley Tuesday afternoon. Defiance drops to 3-9 while Heidelberg improves to 7-6. Heidelberg got a run in the bottom of the first off of Johnny Hammerstein. The Yellow Jackets answered with two in the second to take their first and only lead of the game. Dylan King stole second and Jacob Hild scored on a throwing error to tie the game. Tyler Dehan stepped up and ripped a double to left center, scoring Hild to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-1 lead. The Student Princes would respond in the bottom of the inning. Andrew Cook homered to left field to tie it and Cort Kramer would score on a wild pitch to retake the lead. Heidelberg never looked back as they plated five runs in the fourth and sixth inning to blow the game open.

Stevenson defeated Wilkes University 7-5 on Tuesday afternoon after the game was postponed a week. Thanks to a five-run sixth inning, the Mustangs improve to a 9-6 (4-2 MAC) record. Wilkes falls to 7-10 overall and is now on a four-game losing streak. Jason Labrador entered the contest for starter Jake Pigeon with two outs in the fifth inning. Labrador earned his first win of the season striking out three in 1.2 innings of work. The Colonels threatened the Stevenson advantage scoring two runs in the eighth. Dylan Young gave up another run in the ninth inning but held on to earn this first save of the season.
