Notre Dame of Maryland University scored in every inning but one as the Gators (1-2) recorded their first win as a program on Wednesday, taking down Lancaster Bible (3-2) 22-9. Hendrix defeated the ninth-ranked East Texas Baptist Tigers 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Warrior Baseball Field on the back of a strong outing from the Warrior pitching staff. Jackson Corrigan toed the rubber to start the afternoon and allowed the lone run on just three hits in 3.0 innings, sitting down 9 of the 13 hitters he faced. Aiden Leggett entered in relief of Corrigan and kept the Tigers at bay in 3.2 scoreless innings of work, scattering two hits while working around four walks. Leggett got himself into a bases-loaded jam in the top of the 7th and was relieved by Chance Reed, who promptly got the Tigers to ground out to end the inning and get out of the jam. Rowan Glover entered in the 8th inning and worked around a walk to toss a hitless frame before handing the ball over to Braxton Waller in the 9th inning, who shut the door on the Tigers with a 1-2-3 inning to earn the save and clinch the win for Hendrix. Hendrix and ETBU both recorded just 5 hits on the afternoon.
Bethany Bisons forced a split against a very good Wittenberg Tigers team. Wittenberg came off a win against #13 Baldwin Wallace, but couldn't get the bats rolling against a stingy Bethany pitching staff. Wittenberg won the opener 3-1 while Bethany prevailed 2-1 in the nightcap. Starting on the mound for the Tigers was junior Andrew Rust who only went one inning, surrendered one hit while striking out two. Coming out in relief for the Tigers were senior Kyle Mahon, senior Owen Treece, sophomore Tommy Anthony, and senior Charlie Schafer. Tiger pitching accounted for 16 strikeouts in the game, while walking three and allowing just three hits. Mahon was credited was the win and Schafer was given the save while also recording his 100th career strikeout. Bethany's Logan Bennett gave a masterful performance in game two. The starter went six scoreless innings, only allowing two hits. Bennett got put on his heels in the fourth inning.

Junior Sam Benedict matched his career high with six RBI on Wednesday afternoon as the third baseman headlined a dominant offensive performance overall for the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport baseball team. Benedict was 4-for-5 as the Captains (5-3) erupted for 12 runs on 19 hits including six for extra bases at Bridgewater College (4-2) to hold off the home team in a 12-10 win. CNU scored five runs in the first three innings, added four in the middle three frames, and tacked on three pivotal insurance runs in the final third of the game as the Captains offense continuously threatened the Bridgewater defense. Each run proved imperative as the host Eagles scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to pull within striking distance before Christopher Newport closed out the win.
Concordia Wisconsin opened the 2025 season with a convincing 7-0 victory at Carroll. The Falcons handed the Pioneers their first loss of the year and send the Orange and Blue to 3-1 on the young season. The Falcons opened the scoring on Wednesday in the top of the first inning when senior Brynden Cleveland stole second base and senior Kyle Flynn was able to capitalize and run across home plate. That was all they needed. On the mound, the Falcons silenced the Pioneers with nine strikeouts and only three hits against. Senior Zach Slome had three strikeouts in the start to lead the flock. Senior Owen Burns and senior Arthur Liebau both finished with two strikeouts.
After a hot start to the season over the weekend, Washington University picked up a 12-2 win in seven innings over visiting Fontbonne in midweek action at Kelly Field at Irv Utz Stadium on Wednesday. Senior Brandon Buday led off for the Bears and finished going 4-for-5 from the plate with a triple, three runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Graduate Noah Reichman, graduate Colter Couillard-Rodak, and senior Braden Mazone all finished with two hits in the contest. With Fontbonne closing at the end of the semester, the Bears will close the series with a 13-2 record all-time against the Griffins.
Muskingum rattled off a four-run inning late to pull away from Westminster in extra innings by a final score of 5-1. The Muskies are off to the best start to a season since the 2005 campaign. As the score stayed knotted at 1-1 into the tenth inning the Muskies finally broke through in the top of the eleventh as a four-run inning that helped propel the Muskies to a 5-1 lead. In the bottom of the eleventh inning, sophomore Gavin Schultz gave up a double to the first batter he faced but never faltered. Schultz proceeded to strikeout the next three Westminster batters that stepped into the box and helped secure the Muskingum win. The Muskies are off to their best start to a season since the 2005 campaign.
Senior Chaz Harvey was a triple short of the cycle with three runs and three RBI, while junior Jordan Hill smacked his first collegiate homer and knocked in three, as the No. 13 Randolph-Macon baseball team outscored Catholic 11-8 on Wednesday afternoon. The score changed hands until Harvey homered over the top of the foul pole in left field to put the home team on top 6-5 in the sixth. This was as close as Catholic would get as senior Sam Slevin fanned three over the final 1.1 innings to record his second save. Slevin tied the program record of 13 career saves held by Christian Cok.
Johns Hopkins hosted Cairn in its first-of-two midweek games Wednesday afternoon, dominating the Highlanders 16-3. Tonight's victory marks the 14th time the Blue Jays hit four-or-more home runs in a game since the start of the 2024 season, and the first time recording six since smacking seven in last season's NCAA Regional win against Arcadia 20-8. Hopkins (3-0) found themselves in an early deficit, surrendering the first run to the Highlanders (0-1) on a second-inning Zach Bauers home run. However, the Jays did not trail for long, scoring six runs in the bottom half on a leadoff homer by Jacob Harris, followed by back-to-back-to-back home runs by Alex Shane, Shawn Steuerer and Caleb Cyr. The Blue Jays continued to swing the bats, recording two five-run frames (3rd, 6th), with Steuerer launching his second long-ball of the game. This is the second time in three games that the senior has recorded a multi-home run performance.
Waynesburg University opened its season with a doubleheader split against Penn State Altoona at the Waynesburg University Baseball & Softball Complex on Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets broke through with a four-run fifth inning to overcome three solo home runs by the Lions to take the season opener 4-3. The Lions used an 11-run fourth inning and knocked 16 hits in a 17-6 PSA victory in game two. Both games of the doubleheader were seven inning contests. Waynesburg opens the season at 1-1 while Penn State Altoona moves to 3-1. The Jackets notched their first win under the leadership of head coach Michael Impellittiere in the first game.
Following a successful home opener on Tuesday, it was right back to work for Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday, traveling to John E. Painter Park in Grottoes to match up with Mary Baldwin. The Royals brought their "A" game with a dominant display in all facets of the game, defeating the Flying Squirrels 22-2 in seven innings. The 22 runs scored is the most in a single game for EMU since they also put up 22 in the first game of a doubleheader at Guilford back on April 9, 2022. Wednesday's game marked the fifth 20+ run game for the Royals under head coach Adam Posey. Not to be outdone, the Royals pitching staff collaborated to limit Mary Baldwin to just three hits on the afternoon, led by Maxim Fritts, who allowed just two runs in four innings of work in his collegiate debut on the mound.
Behind brilliant work on the bump by the quartet of Marcello Ricigliano, Jacob Ray, Jacob Phillips, and Jack Ratliff, Guilford College (6-0, 0-0 ODAC) took care of William Peace University (0-6, 0-0 USA South) by a final score of 10-1 on Wednesday night at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Ricigliano made his third start in six games for the Quakers with the purpose of getting him work. Only asked to throw the first inning, he did allow a pair of singles, and struck out one in a scoreless inning of work. Phillips was tasked with a bulk of the innings on the bump for GC, finishing 5.0 innings allowing just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four, ending up as the pitcher of record to get the win and improve to 2-0.
UMass Boston (1-0) kicked off their 2025 season with a dominant 17-2 victory over the New England College Pilgrims (0-1) at Monan Park. Senior Ross Dexter earned the Opening Day start for the Beacons, delivering a stellar performance on the mound. Dexter tossed five hitless innings, striking out six batters to secure his first win of the season. Offensively, the Beacons erupted for 17 runs on 16 hits, with contributions from nine different players. Justin Gouveia (3-6, 3 RBIs) and Elliot Miles (3-6, 4 RBIs) led the charge. Together, Gouveia and Miles went 6-for-12, with two doubles and seven RBIs. Brandon Gaer, Jacob Levine, and Mariano Jimenez also posted multi-hit games in the opener, while junior Breon Parker added a double and drove in two runs.
After a tough 0-3 weekend, Centenary (N.J.) bounced back with a vengeance on Wednesday, securing a dominant 9-1 victory over the Ramapo Roadrunners in a thrilling game that saw them score 8 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning. The game, which had been tightly contested up until that point, turned into a showcase of offensive firepower and outstanding pitching for Centenary. The team had struggled earlier in the weekend, but this win brought renewed energy and confidence to a fun to watch Cyclones team. The Centenary offense came alive when it mattered most. Tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the 8th inning, the team exploded for 8 runs in an inning that left fans in awe. While the offense stole the show in the 8th inning, it was a stellar performance from the Centenary pitching staff that kept them in the game early. Sam Castillo, starting on the mound, was nothing short of impressive. He tossed 4 scoreless innings, striking out 3 batters and keeping the opposing lineup at bay. Castillo's effort gave his team the breathing room it needed, and the bullpen took it from there.
Sophomore second baseman Jase Howell had three hits and three RBIs, and junior Greer Farr had a three-run double, to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a 17-5 non-conference road win at nationally-ranked No. 20 North Carolina Wesleyan University on Wednesday in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Senior right-hander Gavin Gregory started on the mound and pitched the first 5.2 innings for the pitching victory for the visiting Tigers (2-3) against the host Bishops (2-6). H-SC scored 17 runs on 17 hits with two errors, They scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the third, one run in the sixth, nine runs in the seventh and three runs in the ninth. NCWU scored five runs on eight hits with four errors, Scoring one run each in the first and second innings, and three runs in the ninth.
Two late four-run innings turned a close game into a rout as Muhlenberg won its second straight game, 15-8 at Lebanon Valley. Coming on the heels of an 18-5 win at Rutgers-Newark on Sunday, it was the first time the Mules (2-1) scored at least 15 runs in back-to-back games since 2008. They had never reached the 15-run mark in back-to-back games on the road in the 106-year history of the program. It was 7-5 in the seventh when junior Thomas Pranzo came up with the bases loaded and two outs and broke open the game with a grand slam, his second career home run. Every player in the starting lineup scored at least one run, except for senior Brendan Hughes, who went 3-for-6 with a triple and two RBI.
William Paterson (3-0) held on to an early lead and claimed a 7-5 home win against Arcadia (1-2) at Jeff Albies Field. The Pioneers loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth before an RBI infield single by junior Dylan Santos drove in the first run of the game. A pair of sacrifice flies from junior Angel Colon and senior Austin Jack put WP ahead by three (3-0). Senior Braden Ramirez ripped an RBI single up the middle before sophomore Ty Kobylakiewicz cleared the bases with a three-run double to right to extend the lead to seven (7-0). Arcadia trimmed the deficit to pull within two (7-5) in the seventh. Arcadia had two runners on in the ninth, but sophomore Robert Nathan worked out of the jam to earn the save and give WP the 7-5 victory.
The University of Lynchburg baseball squad notched a midweek win against Mary Washington, 7-2, for its final contest of a seven-game road stand to start the season. The No. 9 Hornets (6-1) played their fourth game in five days after returning from the D3 Showcase this past weekend, leaving Greensboro with a 2-1 overall record in the tournament, including a ranked win over No. 15 Cortland. Lynchburg wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with a two-run first inning. Mary Washington responded with a run in the second inning and leveled the score in the third. The Hornets answered in the sixth, putting up three runs to extend their lead to 5-2 then added two more insurance runs in the eighth. On the mound, Lynchburg's pitching staff, led by Davis Watson, Ryan Allard, and Brock Duff, kept Mary Washington at bay, with Colin McGuire closing out the game. The Hornets' defense was solid, including a key double play in the bottom of the ninth to seal the win.
