GRAND CHUTE, Wis. -- Playing baseball. Thank goodness. And we ended Monday with three teams still playing. Cortland State is awaiting the winner of the second game between Trinity (Texas) and UW-La Crosse.

Those teams will meet again at 11 a.m. on Tuesday because Trinity (Texas) busted out the bats early and often vs. UW-La Crosse and cruised to a 16-6 win in the day's final game.

Frostburg State got eight and one-third innings from starter Bennett Schiltz (10-1) as the Bobcats eliminated Ramapo with a 5-2 win. Nick Walker went 3-for-4 with a homer, his eighth of the season, while JT Tipton hit a two-run single in the sixth to put Frostburg up 4-0. The Bobcats added a run in the ninth before Brandon Berger launched his second home run of the tournament and Rob DeAngelis singled to chase Schiltz. Nick Huff came on to get a double-play ball and earn the save.

Trinity (Texas) got both great hitting and fantastic pitching as Zack Speer silenced the Emory bats in a 10-1 win, eliminating the Eagles. The Tigers advanced to play UW-La Crosse in the nightcap.

Cortland State became the first team to clinch a trip to the Championship Series, as the Red Dragons put up an 11-spot in the fifth inning and rolled to a 17-4 win over Frostburg State. The Bobcats' best season ever ends at 43-9.
