Scouting report
- Misericordia has the pitching depth to go deep in the 2018 D-III World Series. They have four pitchers that share the team lead in wins (seven) so will be able to put a seasoned starter on the mound for every game.
- The Cougars have scored 10-plus runs in their last three regional round games, averaging nearly a run better over their season average during the six game stretch. They will absolutely mash anyone behind the first-line pitchers.
- The team is fairly balanced. They might not overpower you (see the fairly pedestrian slugging percentage) but they have an offense that will pick up the defense and pitching and vice versa.
- Miseri is not afraid to take one for the team. Santo Giunta has been hit by pitch 18 times, Parker Abate 17, Tyler Holzapfel and Kenny Jarema 14 times apiece and Sean Boylan 12 times, which is a good portion of the reason why the Cougars' on-base percentage is so high.
