Quinn Madden head shot OF Quinn Madden

Madden transferred to Lynchburg after three seasons at Harford Community College. With the Hornets, Madden was a force in the middle of the order. He had 20 multihit games including a stretch of five games in mid-March where he posted a .667 average with 14 hits.

Arrington has been a force in the Hornets' playoff run. He pitched a no-hitter in the regional opener and pitched his 2 complete games over the last two weekend after only pitching a season high 7.0 innngs twice before the playoffs.

Jones is half of the double play duo with Brandon Garcia and was part of 25 double plays this season. He was an important cog in the 2023 championship run, earning All-Tournament honors at second base.

McGuire is the saves leader but two other relievers have three saves. He has filled the closer role as well as played the setup man when the starting pitcher comes out early.

Scouting report

  • Lynchburg won the D-III World Series in its only appearance (2023) and are back to defend their title. They have a Series-best winning percentage at .833 (5-1).
  • Travis Beasley will be coming in to the World Series as a first time head coach but has been part of the Lynchburg program as an assistant coach for the previous six years.
  • Six Lynchburg baseball players earned all-conference honors from the ODAC. Quinn Hadden was the sole first teamer with four of Lynchburg's five second-teamers underclassmen.
  • Lynchburg's pitching was a big part of their title last year. While their hitters are better this year, the pitching staff is not a good as in their championship year. They come in to the Series with a field worse ERA and WHIP. Their K/BB ratio of 1.56 is also a field low.
