Case Western and UW-Stevens Point swings into the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 this week. Denison continues to rise in the poll, taking over the second spot behind the Endicott Gulls. Baldwin Wallace, Salisbury and Eastern Texas Baptist rounds out the top 5 teams.
The best teams in Region 9 comes from Wisconsin. UW-La Crosse looks as strong as does UW-Stevens Point. UW-Whitewater will be a factor as well. Add Bethel, Gustavus and Buena Vista and you have a region that competes with any other.

On Monday, the top teams knew how to win. UW-Stevens Point slugged their was to a sweep, Rowan shutout Penn State Abington, and Catholic walked it off. Three different ways to win but the result was the same with the ranked team coming out on top.

Sweeping the day is always a goal before the first pitch. On Sunday sweeps were accomplished by the likes of Catholic, Knox, Lynchburg, Muhlenburg Stevenson and Utica. Wilmington and UW-Stevens Point both took two from two different teams.

Moravian University has named SUNY Cortland Assistant Coach Douglas Coe as their new head coach, just the program's sixth head coach since 1935. Coe will begin his duties on July 18 with the Greyhounds.

Washington University announced the hiring of Pat Bloom as head coach of the Bears’ baseball team. Bloom is the 13th baseball coach in program history. Bloom leaves UWSP after 12 seasons as the head coach of the Pointers.
