No. 8 Birmingham-Southern rebounded from yesterday's loss and handed  Centenary (La.) its first loss today, 4-1, in the Clements Fluids Classic, hosted by Texas-Tyler. A.J. Hunt went 3-for-4 at the plate and Taylor McCracken was 3-for-5. Senior Kyle Royalty started and picked up the win, going 5.0 innings with no hits or runs and only one walk as well as eight strikeouts.

The Marymount (Va.) University baseball team bounced back from a tough season-opening defeat with two 7-2 victories on Sunday afternoon, using a strong offensive front with 17 total hits through the 7-inning twin bill against Southern Vermont College to move to 2-1 in its first weekend of play.

Maryville completed a four-game sweep of Sewanee at historic Montgomery Field. The visiting Scots earned an 11-3 win in the first game and then took the second by a score of 10-3. Zack Blonder led all Scot hitters with five hits on the day.

Texas-Dalls improved to 3-0 for the second time in three seasons after a 15-9 win over Hendrix on the final day of the Rusty Greer/Jackie Moore Classic at AirHog Stadium. The Comets' early-season offensive explosion continued as UTD belted out 18 hits against Hendrix, after collecting 17 hits in each of the first two contests of the weekend.

Huntingdon wrapped up the Millsaps Tournament with a 5-1 win over the University of Ozarks. It was the second game between the two teams in the tournament. Huntingdon won the first game 9-6 on Friday. Jared Gonzalez picked up the win in seven innings, striking out five, walking one and allowing one run on five hits. Senior Mason Throneberry pitched the final two innings, striking out one and allowing one hit.

Down 8-1 after three complete, Piedmont posted a  ten run rally over the next three innings in a wild 13-11 win over Southwestern.

Brent Backlund, a senior transfer from NCAA Division II Central Oklahoma, broke out with strong eight innings on the mound and the Leopards beat the Lutes, 3-2, on the strength of Anthony Gonzalez' ninth inning walkoff single . Backlund fanned seven, walked just one and scattered just four hits in eight innings. Landon Packard finished a triple shy of the cycle for the Lutes.

Willamette and Oxy split

No. 7-ranked Trinity (Texas) Tigers scored the final seven runs of the game to take an 11-6 non-conference win over No. 22 Texas-Tyler in the final game of the Clements Fluids Classic at Irwin Field. Connor Moore led the Tigers with a 4-for-6 performance.

Lynchburg swept Greensboro in a doubleheader 5-3 and 8-4 in non-conference play. In both games, Greensboro had an early lead that they were unable to hold.

Mary Hardin-Baylor jumped out to a huge early lead and then held on in the final innings to post a 10-9 victory over Pacific. Nathan Kent earned the win for UMHB and Cody Farr notched his first save. Matt Mazoch had three hits for the Cru and Cody Stone drove in three runs.

Cal Lutheran jumped out to a 5-0 lead behind a big first inning and criused to a 14-2 win against Sul Ross State. Ramsey Abushahla led the Kingsmen at the plate with a 4-for-4 day with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. On the mound, Nate Wehner earned the win after going 5.2 innings and allowing just four hits and two earned runs with one strikeout.

The Kingsmen responded to their Saturday loss with a 14-2 win on Sunday morning against Sul Ross State. CLU jumped out to 5-0 lead behind a big first inning that saw hits from Casciola, Abushahla, Chad Clark, Gabe Gunter and Saito. 

In the sixth inning, Abushahla tripled home Casciola to widen the lead and the Kingsmen put together another five run inning in the seventh. CLU capitalized on two early errors to bring in two runs, which was then followed by an RBI double from Saito and an RBI triple from Sinjin Todd. Casciola continued the damage with an RBI single to bring in Todd.

Abushahla led the Kingsmen at the plate with a 4-for-4 day with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. Casciola and Saito each added three hits, while Casciola also led the way with three runs scored along with Jeff Rebello. Todd and Gunter also finished with multi-hit games.

On the mound, Nate Wehner earned the win after going 5.2 innings and allowing just four hits and two earned runs with one strikeout. Peterson added two strikeouts in 1.1 innings of relief work while Weinstein and Kiyabu also made appearances.
